Burbank Tech Talks - #LATechWeek Edition

Six leaders from Burbank's economic development, venture capital, cleantech, biotech, and innovation sectors introduce themselves and their work. The panel will discuss how startups access talent and funding in Southern California.
Good evening everyone. My name is Marissa Cardwell and I'm with the City of Burbank's Economic Development Division. We're really excited to be working with Neil and Rising Tide Partners on today's event as a part of LA Tech Week.
Hey everyone. My name is Neil Bloom. I run an investment fund, Interlock Capital and I've assembled a great group to share their perspectives on a wide range of conversations in talent, technology and kinds of companies that we are seeing locally.
My name is Mike Swords. I'm the VP of Government and International Relations at the Los Angeles Cleantech Incubator or Lacey. We are a non profit technology incubator located in downtown LA. We've helped over 475 companies since we opened our doors.
Casey O', Neill, I'm with Biocom California. We serve the life science industry in a number of ways ranging from getting access to capital in front of VCs, family offices to policy at the federal, state and local level. We advocate for the life science industry.
My name is Eric Eitie. I'm Managing Director focused on capital access programs at the alliance for SoCal Innovation. I work very closely with founders and venture capitalists that are trying to scale their businesses right here in Southern California.
I'm Vaha Karayan, co founder and CEO of Grand Lens Startup here in Burbank, believe it or not. So I'll be rounding off this awesome panel as you can see how diverse the group is. Everybody representing some piece and I'm basically representing the startup side of things. We are a content collection platform.
Our entrepreneurship programming has several different facets. So basically a one stop shop business, concierge, business liaison. Anything that we can do to make your life as an entrepreneur a little bit easier, we're happy to do and.
With that, please enjoy and thanks again for coming.
