Hey O welcome to the Hundred Dollar RBA Show Business lessons you can't afford to miss with our daily 10 minute lessons for the Real world. I'm your host, your coach, your teacher Omar Zenholm. I'm also the co founder of the Hundred Dollar mba, a complete business training and community online and today's episode is a guest teacher episode. On our guest teacher episodes we bring on an expert to teach their area of expertise. Today's guest teacher is Pete Vargas. And Pete Vargas will be teaching you how to craft a high converting signature talk. A lot of people think that great public speakers can speak about anything.
No.
Great public speakers have a great talk. They nail that talk, they nail that performance and it becomes their calling card. It becomes how they bring in their business. This is why it's so important for you to craft your own signature talk, one that will get people moving. And that's what Pete Vargas is going to be teaching you today in his guest teacher lesson. He's going to explain what are the ingredients of a high converting signature talk, what to look out for and remember when you're crafting your own. So let's get into it. Let's get down to business. Crafting a high converting signature talk doesn't have to mean that you have to be on big stages at big conferences. This could be a video for your website. This could be a live webinar. This could be an automated webinar. This could be a talk where the content you can deliver throughout different interviews or podcasts. It's your message, but the content of your message is not enough. How you deliver it really counts. This is why I'm so pumped to have Pete Vargas here on today's show. I met Pete a year ago actually at a conference. It was actually a public speaking conference for and I really resonated with him as a person and his story, which he'll share with you today. So without further Ado. I'm going to pass it on to Pete and then I'll be back to wrap it up and give my takeaways. But for now, take it away. Pete.
Hey there. It's great to be with you. It's Pete Vargas, and I'm so excited to teach you how to design your Signature Talk. You see, I believe entrepreneurs and business owners that if they can dial into one incredible Signature Talk, that it will be the greatest marketing tool in their business. The reason I believe that is because if you can really get dialed into a structure of a talk, it can be delivered one to one, one to a few, one to many. You can use it as you communicate to your, you know, your team, your staff, your employees. But you can also use it in sales conversations. But where we love to use it the most is a one to many model where you're actually sharing one incredible talk that provides so much value, that allows people to see what you do and the genius that you provide. And so we believe the Signature Talk is the greatest marketing tool in your business. And today I want to teach you how you design that. How do you begin to set it up? And it's awesome because I also have a free gift for you at the end, an amazing gift that I think is going to serve you. But I want you to know as you get one talk down, it will be game changer for your business. So what are the elements of a great Signature Talk? Well, I want you to know there are four major parts of our framework. We call it the Story Brave framework. And when you do this framework well, you are creating a talk that we know will make you great anytime you give it. So here's the things. What do I want? What do I want to see in the talk before I talk about the framework? What makes an incredible talk? Inspiration, Education, Activation. What do I mean by activation? I mean activating them to want to take action and ultimately go deeper with you. Whether that's a product, a service, a donation, you know, if they're becoming an advocate, a follower, a believer in you. That's what we want the Signature Talk to do. And so we believe you are one great signature talk away. And we have been able to help entrepreneurs, thousands of entrepreneurs across the world, really develop their Signature Talk in such a power way. Now, why do I care about Signature Talk so much? I want you to understand that then I'm going to dive into the four part framework and then give you a free gift after that. But I believe in the Signature Talk so much because my dad and I's life. My dad was an extremely abusive dad growing up. To me, we had tried everything in my teenage years to really re establish that relationship. And then my dad one day heard a man on a stage. His name was Darrell Scott. His daughter was the first girl killed at Columbine in 99. And he heard this man on a st. And it is what prompted my dad to ask for forgiveness for the father that he'd been to me. And that's the day when I really started to figure out this signature talk thing. Like, Darrell was getting in front of a lot of people, but we weren't seeing. And he was inspiring and he was educating, but we weren't seeing people go deeper with him. And so I really want you to understand today that we've been in the lab testing this for over 15 years and we want you to understand the four part framework of every great signature talk. And you want to have each and every piece. So the first part of the storybreak framework has to do with the heart, the very first thing, whether you have, and I'm going to tell you how much percentage of time is spent on each of these four parts. At the very end, I just want you to get the four first so you can use all four of them. If you have 10 minutes, if you have 20 minutes, 30 minutes, 40 minutes or 60 minutes, you will adjust according to the time you have. But the first piece is that you have to grab their hearts. Once you have their hearts, they're ready to listen to everything you have to teach them. So in this first part of the framework, the heart, there's a couple of things we want you to do. We want you to establish human connection, connect with your audience right away. We want the audience to see your bhag, your big hairy, audacious goal, your mission, like why you do what you do. But really, two of the most important things we want to see is that they see that you are both ordinary and extraordinary. Because if they only see you as ordinary, they're not going to listen to you. If they only see you as extraordinary, they're going to be like, I can't do what that person does. But if they're able to see you walking in their shoes, the only difference is you figured out the solution to the problem. And that's whatever the problem it is is that you're solving, and you've went to an extraordinary level in your life with that problem, they will want to listen to you say, that's the first piece of the story. Brave framework, which is the Heart. The second piece of the story brave framework now transitions into the head, the mind, beginning to get them to listen to you and hear everything. You've got to teach them. Because when you open up their hearts, their minds are ready to listen. And remember, you're teaching them how to move from ordinary to, to extraordinary in their life in whatever area that you're teaching. So what's really important during this piece is that this, this piece that you have your own proprietary framework, like what took you from ordinary to extraordinary. That's what you want to, that's what you want to teach here. Because when you teach that their minds are open and ready to listen to everything, like they're just listening and they're absorbing because you opened up their hearts. So that's the second piece of the story grade framework is the head, the head, the mind, the head. But guess what, we don't want to stop there. They're now like, okay, I believe you, I trust you, I connect with you. You've taught me you've provided value. Now you've got to give them a call to action. Now it becomes the hands. The hands. We want to do two things in the hand section. We want to give them a quick win in their life. Give them a quick win. What's going to get them a quick win in their life? Where they're like, wow, this person has really helped me get a quick win. So we've seen, you know, financial folks like give a little tip about finances. We've seen relationship coaches give, you know, hey, go, go land a date in the next week. We've seen, you know, you know, faith based folks talk about some, you know, meditation practice, you know, so what is that quick win that you can get them? We've seen digital marketing folks talk about making this little tweak with your ads. Get them a quick win and collect their names. Because you cannot follow up with them if you don't collect their names. And the way you collect their names is not by giving away your PowerPoint slide or not by giving away an ebook. Because how many of us have gotten an ebook and not read it? It's by giving them a valuable gift that they can consume in 10 minutes that moves them from A to to B. That moves them from A to B. Why? Because you're going to help move them from B to Z and get them the rest of the way home after the fact. And so that's the third piece. It is the hands and then the fourth piece and the final piece is the heart. You go and you close things out with the heart. You drive home some story at the end that reinforces the big idea that you taught them. You drive everything home with a big, you know, some story that reinforces everything you taught them. Because you want to close with that emotional close, like that close that really captures their heart. That is the four part framework to the story braid framework. It starts with the heart, it moves to the head, it transitions into the hands, and it closes with the heart. How much time do we like to spend on each piece? We like to find ourselves being in that 10 to 15% of the time that you have on the opening heart. We love to be at 60 to 70% of your time in that content piece. The head. Yes. We want you to teach and not tease them. So yes, teach them. And then, you know, there's 10% on the hands and about 10% on the closing heart. That is what makes up the story braid framework. Now here's the deal. When you do this well and you get this signature talk in front of people, you will see amazing things happen for your movement, for your message, for your business. You will begin to see people close and want to go deeper with you, convert, be inspired, feel educated. And so this is what I want to do. I would love to. I'm really excited about doing this. And so what I'd love to do is I'm going to go deeper into the signature talk and I want to help you not only outline your signature talk, but I want to help you understand all of the different stages of that. You know, there's dozens and dozens of stages that you should take that signature talk on. And so I want to give you access to our free workshop that's coming up. So all you need to do is go to onehourlaunchworkshop.com onehourlaunchworkshop.com and sign up for our workshop. Because we're going to go deeper into the signature talk and we're also going to help you get on stages. You see, a stage changed my dad and I's life forever. And it was him hearing a talk on that stage that changed our lives. And that's the power you have as you design your greatest marketing tool, your signature talk. I look forward to seeing you in our workshop and so grateful to be on here for this training.

What a great lesson by Pete Vargas I really, really loved that story, the personal story he shared. It's not easy to share something like that, but I'm glad he is willing to do so to inspire us, to show us how important a great speech can be, how impactful it could be. I always say that words are important, Words create ideas and ideas produce a reality. It's definitely true in Pizza Sour and it can be for you and your audience. Now, I know Pete shared with you access to a workshop, but there's another gift that he wanted me to pass on to you, and that's a PDF of how to create presentations that convert any audience. You can check it out@advanceyourreach.com Signature Talk Framework thanks Pete again for that great lesson. My biggest takeaway of his lesson was realizing you're not just saying words on a stage or on video. You're trying to reach other human beings. They have different ways of reaching them to appeal to their head, to their heart. You have to inspire them to take action. You have to actually produce a result. Some of us, we get so caught up with how we sound and how we look and we're so nervous about that, we forget about the audience. I find that if you just focus on trying to make an impact, you calm the nerves and you're a whole lot less nervous when you're delivering your speech. Thanks again for listening to the $100 MBA show. Before I go, I want to leave you with this. If you're an introvert and you're not a big public speaking fan, no problem. But you do need to work on your communication skills. Even if there's just one on one skills or you're just pitching ideas to your team or to an investor or to your significant other, because hey, you're gonna make a transition from working full time to starting your own business, the delivery of those words is essentially a speech. Perfecting and working on your communication skills is a lifelong skill that will benefit you in so many ways in business and in life. Alright, I'll check you in tomorrow's episode. I'll see you then. Take care.
