If you have a question you want to ask, just email me over at Omar MBA net Today's Q&A Wednesday's question is from Jeff and Jeff asks, I'm too distracted at home. Should I join a co working space? Solid question Jeff. For those who are listening and have the same concern, Jeff is building his business on the side with a full time job. When he comes home to work on his business. He shares his home with a lively bunch of family members and getting things done seems too impossible. So he's asking, hey, should I join a coworking space and go from my day job to the coworking space to work on my business a couple hours a day before I go home? I'll be sharing my own experience when it comes to managing my time and working from home. When I was Side hustling. I did it for 10 plus years. I share with you some of the options you can explore to make sure you do get the things you need to get done in your business every day. There's nothing more disappointing than saying, hey, I gotta get these things done this week and you get none of them done because every time you try, there's some distraction happening around you. We're gonna solve this right now, so let's get into it, let's get down to business. So Jeff is too distracted to get any of his work done for a side hustle at home. And he's asking, should he join a co working space? Like I mentioned, for over 10 years I was building businesses on the side online, offline. While I had a very demanding full time job in education, I too found it too distracting to come home and work on the business. Not only is it distracting, but when you're in the groove where going home is relaxation and fun and temptation like TV and movies and video games, it makes it super, super hard. Plus I'm a big believer of going 100% with, with everything you do. So a hundred percent at work, a hundred percent working on your business and a hundred percent at home relaxing, having a good time with your family. So I used to go to a cafe, so this is as early as 2001 and 2. So co working spaces weren't a big thing back then, but I would go and grab a coffee and sit down at a Starbucks. Your environment really does affect your output, how much you can actually produce. And just being in a place where you're not gonna be bothered, where it's just you and the work, it makes a huge, huge difference in my estimation. Also you are time bound. Like if you say to yourself, I'm going to go to a coworking space or a cafe for two hours, I need to get these things done. You're going to focus to get it done in the two hours. You have no excuse now, no distractions. If you don't get it done, it means that you were dilly dallying and it's on. You need to get some things done. Obviously if you're focused on your work, then after that you can go home and relax. That's what I did and I found it so, so productive. I also found that if you are with somebody in your life, your partner in life that is not involved in the business, it's kind of strange because you're gonna go home and you're gonna work and you're gonna want to include them in. What's going on? Hey, this is what I'm doing. And you can't keep on doing that because it's going to slow you down. And again, you're not gonna get anything done. But at the same time, you don't wanna ignore them. So by separating the two, it really helps. Now, a co working space is like a coffee shop times 10 in terms of productivity. It's designed for you to work. And co working spaces are designed for you to hop in and work and hop out with shared hot desks and all that kind of stuff. Now you might say, well, co working spaces is going to cost me money, you know, maybe three or four hundred dollars a month. Well, I was spending more going to a cafe because I have to order something. I got to order at least a coffee, which was $3. And if I only go there on the weekdays, let alone the weekends, which I did go to the weekends, but let's say I only went on the weekdays, that's 22 days out of the month. So. So, yes, you're gonna pay 70 to $80 on coffee, but you're not super comfortable. You're not at a desk. You're at a table. There are distractions, and for a couple hundred dollars more, you're gonna be in a much better environment that offers free coffee in most places. I really think the co working space is a great idea. It also allows you to network with other entrepreneurs, and maybe you could find a co founder there or your first employee. So, yes, Jeff, I do recommend you try out a coworking space, even if it's just for a week, and see how you feel. You could try all these coworking spaces, say, hey, I'd like to just try for a week. What do I got to pay? 80 bucks. They'd be more than happy to, you know, accommodate that. And then you can go before or after work to get your side hustle business work done. And then after that, you can go home and relax and not worry about neglecting your side hustle or your family. Now, if you're finding it hard to get work done, even at the coworking space, you still feel distracted, you're gonna have to look inwards. Maybe the issue is you. Maybe you are not being productive. I'm not making any assumptions here, Jeff. I want you to try things out and see. But if you are still distracted and you still are getting work, then maybe you got to work on your productivity, maybe you got to work on your focus. Maybe you got too many tabs open. Maybe you're trying to checking out sports scores or a great blog post that somebody forwarded to you along with your work. I'm pretty confident that this is not the case, but I want to just throw that out there just in case you need to do this. Just check in with yourself now for those of you listening and say, hey, I really don't have the extra money to shell out a couple hundred dollars, $300 on a co working space every month. Another option is your local public library. Depending on where you live, you know library can be open until even 7 8pm Libraries have wi fi now and it's a great environment in terms of getting some peace and quiet and it's distraction free. Only small downside is is you can't eat or drink in the library. So but it's no big deal if it's a couple hours. When I was living in New York City, I used to do this on the regular. I used to just go to the public library and get work done. I used to just change it up from working at home. The point is you have options.

Wednesday, Jeff's question he's too distracted at home. Should he join a coworking space? I highly recommend you give this a try just for a week and see the results. You're creating separate environments, separate spaces. You got your day job, you got your side hustle and you got your home. By separating them, it allows you to minimize distractions as much as possible. Thank you so much for listening. If you have a question you want to ask, email me over at Omar MBA Net and I'll answer it right here on the show. Before I go, I want to leave you with this One of the hardest things that you have to do as an entrepreneur when you start building your business is managing your time and getting work done. This is something people don't really teach and it's a hard transition because when you have a job a 9 to 5, you have a job description, you have hours. There are some boundaries or some guidelines for you to succeed when you're starting a business, you have to make the rules. You have to make those boundaries. You have to make the system. When things don't work, it's your responsibility to fix your environment. Thank you so much for listening. I'll check you in tomorrow's episode. I'll see you then. Take care.
