And in today's episode you will learn how to give your website a quick SEO boost. If you haven't heard, Search engine optimization really matters. Making sure people can find you on Google easily and frequently is one of the best things you could do for your business. But let's say for example, you've had your website for some time, a year or two or more and things kind of slowed down when it comes to your SEO it. In today's episode I'm going to share with you some quick tips, some things you can do easily to give your site that SEO boost and get that traffic coming. These are things I've implemented in our own sites and it really works. Some of these you can actually get done in an afternoon and start seeing results within a month. Can't wait to share with you all the tips. So let's get into it. Let's get down to business. All right, let's get your site pumping with new SEO juice now. Quick shout out Many of the tips that I've learned along the way when it comes to search engine optimization come from my favorite SEO expert, Brian Dean from backlinko. Com. Good buddy of ours, friend of the show, been a guest teacher on the show, and I just love his blog. So when many people try to improve their SEO, the first thing that comes to mind is what can I add? What kind of articles can I write? What kind of keywords should I use? And we're going to do the opposite. We're going to start with omission, with removing things from your blog. You can. Yes. Did you know that your search engine optimization gets diluted the more content you put on your site? It's harder for you to rank for certain key terms. If you have a hundred blog posts on your website versus just having 10, I know that sounds crazy, but if you have 10 high, high quality blog posts that get searched, that are shared, that have tons of backlinks, that's more powerful than having a hundred mediocre ones or even a hundred with five powerful ones. You can see as there's a certain amount of traffic that your site can attract and that traffic gets split into many lanes the more and more pages you have. If you want more volume and more efficacy, it's actually better to have better quality than quantity. So we're gonna do some refactoring, we're gonna do some inventory management, and you're gonna go to your blog and you're actually going to start deleting posts. Now don't just start deleting. Before doing some research, you need to take a look at your web traffic. So one of the easiest ways to do this is use Google Analytics and find out on your BL the top 20 blog posts. Okay, the top 20 blog posts. The blog posts that get the most traffic. This is just a simple way to find out which ones are the most popular. And basically these blog posts become untouchable. Everything else is a negotiation. I like to look at the number of blog posts you have and see which ones are not really generating that much traffic that are really not that popular. Now, if you're wondering, I like to search for the past year, like, how much traffic has my blog post generated in the past year? So let's say, for example, I have a hundred blog posts on my website. I might notice, wow, 30 of these blog posts generate very little traffic to my site. And I can find these blog posts in my blog and I can unpublish them or I can delete them. And this will allow me to get a bump in SEO purely by removing the things that don't work. I was a skeptic about this until I tried it and a month later we saw a huge bump in our traffic via SEO. What you want to do is over the years, every year, you want to only keep your greatest hits, your best posts. You're going to have to kill your darlings. Basically, you have to remove the ones that just didn't resonate, that don't do well. You might love them, but again, it's all about the audience. Now that we've cleaned up and removed the fluff and removed the things that don't work, what about adding content that does work. You see, as our business grows, our target market sometimes shifts and the people we speak to or we attract or are different. So one of the things you can do, I highly recommend, is to interview five to 10 of your best clients, your best customers. And you're gonna ask them what are the five things that you struggle with the most in your business, in your marketplace, in your life? What are the five biggest challenges you're having? And let's say, for example, you're a tennis coach and your blog is all about tennis. One of the challenges might be recovery after matches or recovering from injuries, another one. Or maintaining equipment. Whatever those challenges are that they voice, you want to jot them down. And what you want to do is narrow down what are the five biggest challenges your audience has and make those your pillars of your blog. Those got to be your five best posts ever. Because this is what your target audience is struggling with and this is what they're searching for. And if you write for them, they'll find you. This is such a simple yet powerful technique to know how to create the most effective blog posts. You want to go all in on these five blog posts. We're talking about deep content, long form multimedia. Add some videos, add some images, add some gifs, make it like five bucks, really of that quality. And when people search for those terms, you will turn up. We actually did this with our site, Webinar Ninja and our blog there, and it did wonders. Second step, focus on the five biggest challenges your audience is dealing with. Interview them, find out, and write epic posts for each one. Many people think that, oh, I need to upgrade my server or something like that to make it faster. That's probably a last resort and probably not going to fix the problem immediately. Now why is it important to have a fast site? Well, the slower your pages load, the worse your pages will rank. Google has published that the speed of your site does affect your search engine ranking. Now the funny thing is you could speed up your site by doing some simple things, but you don't know what those things are sometimes. And an easy way to do it is a free tool called GT Metrics. This gtmetrix.com pop in your website and it's gonna do an analysis. It's gonna give you a score. For example, it might give you a score of a C minus. And then they're gonna tell you why your site is slow. It could be that you're using images that are quite large and you need to compress images so your pages load faster. You might have all these plugins or other additional JavaScript that's embedded in your website that maybe you don't use anymore. Maybe a whole bunch of applications that you've added over the years and forgot about. And every time you load a page, all those apps are being loaded on top. We're talking about popups and messengers and tracking and all that kind of stuff. You'll get a report and know exactly where why your site is slow. Then you can fix these problems and then retest your site and hopefully you can get a higher grade. I think anything in the B or A category is fantastic, especially if you have a site that's quite large. Anything with a grade C or below. You gotta get to work. You gotta speed this up and clean up your site so that it's faster for your users. And of course you can have a better search engine optimization.
