And in today's lesson you will learn how to create momentum in your business. In my years of experience building and growing businesses, I have realized that momentum is so important. Getting some energy and consistency can do wonders for your business. How do you build up that momentum and make sure your business is making strides and measurable levels of success? If you feel like your business is dragging, that you're not making progress, that it's kind of stagnating, then this episode is for you. And believe it or not, it all starts with your calendar. Yes, in order for us to have momentum in our business, we're going to have to manage our time in a certain way. We're going to line up a certain number of days, doing certain tasks consistently so we can build that snowball and get some massive results. I'll get into the details in today's episode, how to map it out, how to follow through and track your progress. And guess what? You don't have to wait. You don't have to pay for anything or do anything other than get started today. You can get started and build momentum right now after this episode. Can't wait to get into this one. So let's get into it. Let's get down to business. The funny thing about business and growing your business is that you're either growing or you're dying. There's no stasis. You're never just flat lining for a long period of time. You're either going up or going down. So you want to make sure you're constantly going up. And the only way to do that is to make sure you have momentum behind your business, that you're pushing and you're pushing and you're pushing and you start to gain some speed and some velocity. But how do you do that? Well, today we're going to be talking about how to get started, how to organize this, and what are some killers to your momentum. So you can stop doing that now. In order for us to have momentum, you have to have focus. And I'm talking about focus of energy and time. It's very hard for you to gain momentum in your business if you don't have focus. If you're spread thin, if you're doing many things and you're hopping back and forth on what you're trying to improve, you're wasting a lot of time readjusting, remembering where you left off and really gaining any traction. Let me give you an example. Let's say you want to grow your business and make more revenue. One of the ways you want to do that is you want to acquire new customers via Facebook ads. And you've been thinking about running Facebook ads or hiring somebody help you out, but you really haven't gained some momentum. You've been dabbling, you've been testing. So what we're going to do is we're going to use this example for today's episode. Let's say you want to acquire a hundred new customers in eight weeks via Facebook ads. Now we're going to choose the timeframe eight weeks. You're going to look at your calendar and you can block off the next eight weeks and call this your eight week sprint to this goal. You've been dying to do this and acquire new customers of Facebook, but you haven't really gained any momentum or haven't done at all. It's just been on the back burner or even dabbling or you're really. You haven't just completed this task. So we're gonna lock out eight weeks. And when I say eight weeks, it doesn't mean that you're not gonna have any breaks or you're not gonna get to have lunch in those eight weeks. No, you're gonna be working for eight weeks, and we're gonna say five days a week. You can have your weekends if you like them, but that's gonna be your focus. This means you cannot break off for a week vacation, or even going to a conference or something like that. For business, these things break the momentum. I know that it's still work for, like, a conference, but you're losing your focus. You're keeping your eye off the ball here, even just momentarily. I need you to trust me here. Momentum is so powerful. Even if you're hiring somebody, if it's a big goal and your involvement is required, then let's just see this through. Go solid for eight weeks. So block, book your calendar. Eight weeks. That's what you're doing. Now. I'm not saying you can't do anything else in your business. You can't take any sales calls. You can't do any webinars. No, you can do all that stuff. But your focus for those eight weeks is this. Now, you have to define the goal. The goal here is to get a hundred customers via Facebook ads. That's great, but this is where people kind of leave themselves shorthanded. They don't actually take the next step and ask themselves, how am I going to measure? I've achieved this goal. How will you know? So you have to find a way to measure. One, how many customers do you get new customers in eight weeks? Two, to how many of those customers came via Facebook ad? So you can accredit that customer to your effort, to your momentum, to your goal. It's interesting because I had this challenge recently how to attribute or how to use attribution in my business. And I got some really good advice from SEO expert Dev Basu. And there's kind of two ways to do this. One, you can do this through your own CRM. If you have something like HubSpot or ActiveCampaign, they have a feature that helps you attribute your sales, the signups, who signs up via, where and how they get there. And it's basically you drop some code on your website so they can be able to track where the customer came from and how they signed up, and if they actually converted to a customer after trial or after whatever freebie you Gave them. Now another way to do it if you don't have a CRM like that is to use Google Analytics and Google Data Studio. Now I can't get into the details of how to use those, but those are the two kind of options you have in terms of having a tool for attribution. So this is just particular for this goal. But whatever goal you set for the eight weeks, you gotta have a way to measure it, have a way to know that you have achieved that goal. Next you gotta ask yourself, what do you have to do to achieve that goal? How are you gonna get these hundred customers? Are you gonna hire somebody to run some split campaigns, some ads? Do you need to build some assets, Some opt in assets, some lead magnets? Do you need to hire a graphic designer to create the ads? Are you going to do this yourself? You need to make this very clear what needs to get done to achieve the goal. And the next step is pretty self explanatory. Once you have a laundry list of what you have to do, let's make sure we have it plugged into our calendar when we're going to do each task to achieve our goal in the eight weeks. That simple, Put it into your Google Calendar. If you're going to hire somebody to run your ads for you, create a job description, that's a task. Review and qualify CVs, you know, qualify the candidates, run interviews, give them a test project or task. Run your first ad campaign. These are all things you're going to have to do in order to reach this goal. In particular, your goal might be different. You might be creating a new feature in your product that your customers were dying for. How are you going to get this done? What you want to do here is not mess around with the time. If you could do less than eight weeks, say for example, two features, you could split it up to two, four and four. Great. But don't go over eight weeks. Why? We don't want burnout. We want to make sure that we have a solid eight weeks and we don't go over. Minimize the scope of the project. If you need more time, produce a minimal viable version of what's going to get you to your goal next. Track your progress every day. Let's say, for example, again, our goal is a hundred new users via Facebook ads today. What do we have? 0. Write down 0. Even if you have a piece of paper and you write the date for every day of those eight weeks and you jot down with your pen how many customers you have today, that's a Good way to track. It's analog, but it works. Today we have five. Today we have nine. Today we have 10. Today we have 17. Why is this important? Yes, tracking is important, but it's important because it refocuses you and builds that momentum. Every day. Every day reminds you this is the goal. We gotta make this happen. It also motivates you as you see progress. Okay, my efforts are not worthless. They're actually resulting in something or this is not working. We got to change. We got to do something differently. Keep checking in and keep making it happen. Make sure you jot down your progress. The next is have milestones. Let's say for example, the goal is a hundred customers, right? Have a milestone for 25 customers. 50, 70, 500. When I say milestones, just break it up. So we have four milestones. That means every two weeks or so, depending on what the tasks are to do to produce this result, we have these milestones. Why? Because we want to be able to celebrate even something small, go out for ice cream and remotivate ourselves and get that momentum to keep going at it every day. This is intensive. So we got to make sure we take care of our mind, our motivation, our willingness to keep going. Lastly, at the end of the eight weeks, you're going to evaluate how you did. Did you achieve your goal? Did you surpass your goal? Did you come up short? This is a post mortem. Figure out why did you come up short? What went wrong? What would you do differently if you had those eight weeks back, if you did achieve the goal, great. What were some of the things that led to that success? So you can repeat it. You want to do this over and over. Double down, triple down on it. If you really surpass the goal, let's say you double it. 200 new members via Facebook ads that tells you you're not shooting high enough next time around. That should be the minimal goal. Push yourself more.
