If you're going to be doing any print marketing, this is flyers, banners, business cards, thank you notes, any physical printing that you're doing for your business. Whether you're going to sponsor an event and you have a sponsor booth or you're going to an event you want to network and Give out business cards or you're a local physical business who needs some print materials to do some marketing. This episode is for you. I'm going to Share with you 4 tips to saving some big money when it comes to print marketing. Printing materials can be expensive. If you have a printer at home, even just a regular printer, you know what I'm talking about. Getting new ink cartridges is like buying oil or something. It can get expensive. So in today's episode, I'm going to focus on how to create great print marketing materials at the lowest price possible. We don't want to sacrifice any quality, but let's save some money in the process so we can get the most return on our investment. So let's get into it. Let's get down to business. All right, let's jump right into it. I want to give you four great tips to saving money when it comes to your print marketing materials. Before I list the top four tips, I want to quickly talk about the three steps to creating print materials. These steps are going to help you save some money because you're going to get organized and you're going to be saved some time because you know what work is ahead of you. Step number one is planning. You want to plan the actual material, whatever it is, whether it's a flyer, whether it's one of those roll up banners for your booth. You want to plan what's going to go on that actual material, what kind of headlines, what kind of message, what's the purpose of this flyer? Will there be a QR code? What are you trying to accomplish? You want to have a kind of a brain dump, but also organize what's going to go on the material. Even if you write it in a word doc, we're not designing anything here, but you want to kind of write down what's going to be shown on these flyers or banners or whatever they are. So step number one is planning. Step number two is design. So you need to get them designed. Whether you're going to be using images or graphics, you need a designer. If you don't have one on your team, you can always outsource. Upwork is a great place to find a great designer to commission them for a one off job. Or even fiverr.com has some pretty good designers. It won't be five bucks, but it will be around the $100 mark, which is very reasonable. Step three is to print. You want to print your materials. We'll talk about all the options when it comes to printing, but those are the three steps. Planning, Designing Printing. Alright, let's go with tip number one. Tip number one is probably the most important tip, and that's to design your print materials for the long term, right? You don't want to print for one particular event. You don't want to print for just one moment in time. Why? Because if you print materials for your business, for your product, that can work regardless of the event or the situation, you're going to be able to print in bulk and save some money. So instead of printing a hundred flyers, you can print a thousand flyers. And your cost per flyer is going to be much less. And you're gonna be able to use these flyers in all future events, meetups, sponsorships, whatever. A lot of us, we forget this when we do our print materials, whether they're our banners or postcards or whatever it is, we wanna make sure that it's universal. I don't wanna say generic, because you wanna make sure it's great and it's unique, but not unique to one particular event. So you can use it over and over. And even if you overprint, you can save those flyers or whatever materials they are for your next event. The other thing that this does is that when you have a design that you can use over and over, you don't have to spend money on a designer or to get them designed again and again for every single event. Even if you have a call to action on the flyer, like YourWebsite.com like going to a special link, you don't have to have the link unique to the event. You can just have the link say your URL special deal, like webinar ninja.com specialdeal and that URL will go to a page. You can have it forward to whatever deal you're having at that moment. And of course you want that deal to be time sensitive. It could expire after 48 hours, 72 hours. And then you can redirect that page to your homepage when you have no deals. And then when you have your next event, you can have that same link on the page forward to the deal that you're currently offering. So that's tip number one. Tip number two, clarity over quantity. So a lot of people when it comes to print materials, they want to fit so many things on the flyer, they want to fit so many things on the banner. But what happens is that you're confusing your audience, you're confusing your buyer, and as they say, a confused mind never buys. So it's better for you to have a simple, clean and comprehensive, or I should say, Comprehendable message, something that they can remember one statement. What's your unique selling proposition? Why do most of your customers choose your product? Emphasize that and then they'll want to learn more and check out the rest of the features on your website. Now, you might be saying, how is this going to save me money? Well, people are not going to just throw the flyer out. People may not even pick up the flyer if it looks jumbled and confusing. You want to make sure you're getting a return on investment. You're printing a flyer. You want to make sure people actually take the call to action seriously and do something. Check you out and check out the deal. In the same vein is tip number three, do not go cheap. Don't print things that are going to make your company look bad. It's better for you to not have it than to have it and give a bad impression. You want people to correlate or think of quality when they see your business or brand. This is a big waste of money. If you print these materials, whatever it is, and it's just subpar, People are going to just think, I can't really trust this company with my time and money and all the money that you spent on printing, these materials are really going to just fall flat. So don't go cheap. I'm not saying you have to go to the most expensive cardstock and all that kind of stuff, but definitely don't go with the cheapest option when it comes to printing. Remember, you want these things to last too. So if you're buying in bulk, if you're creating banners, backgrounds for your booth, you want them to last for years, not just for one event. All right, tip number four to save you money on your print marketing materials is the actual printing. A lot of people shop around online for their printing needs, and they assume that the lowest price is always just going to be the best option. You need to really factor in shipping and handling and any other fees that are included. Sometimes they're going to have what's called a sample fee. This is so they can create the actual mold or print for the actual material. This is applicable for like T shirts, for example. So there are other fees other than just the printing. So make sure you take a look at the details. The other thing is that it might be more cost effective, especially if you're going in bulk to print locally. We found this to be very true for us. Go into a local print shop that will print your materials, whether it's again, apparel, banners, whatever it is, you're going to save money on printing. You're going to also get to see the quality firsthand in person before you buy and you can actually negotiate a lot of the times waiving some of the fees if your order is big enough. My recommendation is actually to start local, go and see one or two places, jot down the numbers, and then go online and compare the deal that you get from the local shops versus the deals you see online.

Guys to wrap up today's lesson, Print materials can be highly effective, but always think of return on investment. Don't just think oh, this is just a cost I have to pay. Think about how can I get the most out of every single sheet of paper I print? Every single banner I print? How can I make sure it's worth my investment? Print marketing still works and is effective if you do it right. Thank you so much for listening. Today's episode is not over. It's Free Ride Friday. One of my best pieces of advice when it comes to printing marketing materials is to plan ahead and to print ahead of time. Sometimes it takes longer than expected to get these things done. Whether it's the design portion or the printing portion, you want to make sure you have your materials well in advance. Because remember, if you're going to an event, you're on a deadline and you need these things before you go. All right, thanks for listening and I'll check you in Monday's episode. I'll see you then. Take care.
