Hey oh. Welcome to the 100 RMB show where entrepreneurs build their greatness every day with their daily 10 minute business lessons for the real world. I'm your host, your coach, your teacher Omar Zenholm. I'm also the co founder of the Hundred Dollar mba, a complete business training and community online. And in today's episode you will learn my top three vacations for entrepreneurs if you need a break if you're planning to have a break to recharge those batteries, I have some suggestions for you. These are not destinations but or particular countries. These are types of holidays or vacations that I actually think work really well for entrepreneurs. These are three different types of vacations I have taken myself and have found them to be extremely helpful because they allow me to recharge, detach a little bit from my business, sharpen my skills while having a great experience as entrepreneurs. We're a different type of people so we are going to need a special kind of vacation and here are my top three recommendations. You may want to write these down down. Especially if you're planning to take a break sometime soon. Even if it's just for a week or a few days, these holidays can really make a difference. Can't wait to get into this one. Let's get into it. Let's get down to business. Alright, so these are my three types of vacations I think that work really well for entrepreneurs. I'm going to explain each type, why they're beneficial, why you will enjoy them, and why they will allow you to really recharge your mental and emotional batteries. My first vacation is a vacation to a capital city of a foreign country. Now let me explain what I mean by foreign country. This really becomes an experience when you go to a country where their native language is one that's not your own, one that you do not speak. Whether it's Mexico, France, Japan, Germany, Egypt or Hungary, you're going to go somewhere that you're going to be immersed in a different environment. And I recommend the capital city because usually the capital city has lots to do to learn about culture, to learn about the arts, to learn about, about what makes this culture tick. There's gonna be plenty for you to do and to interact with. Now this is a fantastic vacation for an entrepreneur because as entrepreneurs, we love to grow, we love to learn, we love to expand our minds. But we need a break from expanding our mind when it comes to our business for a moment or hey, we need a little break. But it doesn't mean we need to take a break from learning. In fact, I think when you immerse yourself in something like a foreign country, with new culture, new ideas, new ways of looking at the world, it allows you to come back with something incredibly valuable, perspective. For example, if you have ever been in a very immersive movie, you went to the cinema, you watched this movie, you're engrossed in the story, you come out of the theater and you feel the sense of, wow, I went on this journey. And that experience really takes you out of your day to day. Now imagine doing something like that for a whole week where you got to think on your toes and try to communicate with body language and look up your catchphrases in your guidebook, taste new foods and experience new cultures or shrines or temples. These types of vacations really enrich you as a human being. It also helps you see the perspective of other places in the world, how other people think. Because these people could be your potential customers, if not already. Many of us, we live in a bubble in our own space, in our own world, because we're so busy working on our business and we don't give ourselves a chance to kind of break through that bubble and realize, hey, there's another way of looking at things, seeing things, experiencing things. Things look, taste, feel, sound different in different parts of the world. And that's the beauty of travel. And by immersing yourself in something totally different, it really jogs things and really allows you to have an immersive experience and come back with that perspective, that renewed perspective. This is something I really recommend. If you're interested in this type of vacation, I highly recommend Rick steves books and YouTube channel. Europe for a lot of people in North America is an easy kind of trip. Not too far and you can really immerse yourself at a city like Rome or Madrid or Paris and get a lot of that trip in. And Rick Steves got some amazing travel guide tips in his videos. You're feeling really adventurous. You can really immerse yourself in a very different culture like Japan or Korea. But some of you might find even Mexico, which is just around the corner if you live in California, to be quite an interesting experience. So that's my first type of vacation. Type 2, remote all inclusive beach resort. This is called total unplugging. I've done this before and it has its merits. It's very different from the first type of vacation, but it allows you to totally do nothing, okay? Even make decisions. And this is why I say all inclusive. You go to one of these fancy places where everything's included, food, drink, all that kind of stuff and you don't even have to make decisions about where you're going to eat, where you're going to dine out. It's just taken care of for you, it's going to be great, it's delicious and you just enjoy your days. Totally unplugging. I like these types of vacations when I'm really fried, really stressed out and I just want to recharge. I want to catch up on some reading I want to do. Or maybe I just want to catch up on some sleep, right? Or get some exercise, some fresh air, get some swimming in the beach. These types of vacations are probably very typical of really burnt out entrepreneurs. But it's typical for a reason, because they don't need to make any decisions and everything's kind of taken care of and it's total relaxation. Massages, whole nine yards. Believe it or not, these types of vacations don't have to be long to be effective. In fact, I would say or five nights is plenty if you're doing nothing and relaxing and just eating and enjoying yourself and grabbing some sun. If you're in that kind of environment, you know, even four nights is going to be enough for you to recharge the batteries and go at it. And for many of you four nights is easy to pull off. Couple nights from the weekend and bridge it with a couple days from the front and the end of a week and you're good to go. Whether you're going to the Caribbean or Polynesia or Hawaii or Fiji, this is a fantastic option if you just want to totally Zen out. All right. Third type of vacation, and I call this one the active adventure vacation. This is a different type of immersion where you're really immersing yourself in a new kind of activity, where you're really spending a lot of time getting better at something. This is like going on a ski holiday or snowboarding. Going on an animal safari in Africa and really getting better at photography. Going on a yoga retreat where you really get to refine your practice of yoga or get started with yoga. What I love about these types of vacations is that it allows you to focus on one thing and again, it's an immersion of another activity to allow you to unplug mentally. What I love about these activities is that you learn how to be a beginner. You learn how to overcome your fears in certain areas, allow you to overcome your fear of failure. Especially if you're skiing, you're falling over and over, that's okay. You learned how to pick yourself up and enjoy the day. And by the end of the holiday, like the week, you've made some progression, you made some strides, and you feel so good about yourself. It's a great confidence booster as a business builder. It also allows you just to focus on something different for a moment, sort of like a mini project. I recently went on a snowboarding, very small snowboarding trip for a few days. And because I focused on it for three days, it allowed me to say, hey, by the end of this three days, I want to be able to go down blue runs with no sweat. And yep, I got it. And it gave me the sense of confidence that, hey, I can do all things. Now, even though this is called an active adventure, it doesn't have to be physically demanding. It could be something like photography or painting or going to chess camp. Some people are into that kind of stuff. Taking a one week intensive on how to code or how to film with a digital camera. This is a totally different kind of vacation. It's a learning vacation, but something you've been always wanting to do and challenge yourself with. I know people that go to big cities that are in their country, they go to New York, for example, and take a one week intensive in digital filmmaking and they get to enjoy that kind of new city. While learning their new skill. Of course, this is not without its fun. You're going to be dining out, you're going to be having some good times, enjoying the local cuisine of wherever you are. None of these vacations really need to be super expensive. You can do it on a budget. You can watch all those videos I talked about from Rick Steves about travel or any other travel blog about how to, you know, kind of cut corners and save money on accommodations and flights. And a lot of this can be done locally as well. And this is why I wanted to kind of carve out the type of vacation I recommend and not the specifics. Guys, I got more on today's topic, but before that, let me give love to today's sponsor.

Up today's lesson, it's important for you to take a break during your journey as an entrepreneur. Whether you do it once a year or twice a year, or how many times a year you need to recharge the batteries. My suggestions today Whether it's immersion in a new culture in a capital city of a foreign country or a remote beach location that's all inclusive, or an active adventure where you get lost in a new activity, improving yourself, boosting your confidence. These types of holidays allow you to detach yourself, but at the same time improve and engage different parts of your mind, body and soul. I hope today's lesson helped if it did. Tell people about it on social media. Screenshot today's episode on your phone and send it on Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook, whatever you use and hashtag us100mba. Thanks for the love in advance. Before I go, I want to leave you with this. You work really hard on your business and becoming a better entrepreneur. So take your vacations seriously. What I mean by that is take the time to plan these things out and make sure you enjoy it. Make sure you tell your team, hey, I'm unplugging. I'm going to enjoy this. I'm going to not be answering my emails. Put a, you know, autoresponder or vacation reminder on your email or vacation. Autoresponder, it's called. The point here is, is that don't go halfway, really go all in so you can come back feeling recharged and you don't feel like you wasted your time or money. That's my advice to you. And I learned that the hard way. All right, I'll check you guys in tomorrow's episode, Free Ride Friday. I'll see you then. Take care.
