Omar Zenhom shares three lessons from ClickFunnels' Funnel Hacking Live in Nashville: build a movement around your product, not just the product itself; long-term success depends on a superior product; and sell more to existing customers instead of chasing new ones.

All right, let's jump into today's episode. Hey O. Welcome to the $100 MBA Show. Simple practical business lessons to keep your business motor going every day with our daily 10 minute business lessons for the real world. I'm your host, your coach, your teacher Omar Zenholm. I'm also the co founder of the $100 MBA, a complete business training and community online. And in today's lesson you will learn my three biggest takeaways from Funnel Hacking Live. Recently, Nicole and I attended Funnel Hacking live in Nashville, Tennessee. It's ClickFunnels big annual event. This is the first time we've been to a ClickFunnels event, a ClickFunnels conference. And even though we're familiar with Russell Brunson and ClickFunnels, and our program, Webinar Ninja integrates with ClickFunnels. We didn't know too much about this conference other than it's a big time marketing conference. Some people feel like maybe clickfunnels marketing is really over the top. Some people love it. Nicole and I decided, let's go to this conference with an open mind. Let's learn what we can learn and take and implement what is beneficial to our business, to our brand. So in today's lesson, I want to share with you the three biggest takeaways from that conference and how you can apply these takeaways in your own business. So let's get into it. Let's get down to business. Want to start off by giving a shout out to Dave Woodward. He's a chief Revenue officer over at ClickFunnels. We know Dave. We share the same business coach. And he reached out to us and said, hey, why don't you come out and see our event, Funnel Hacking Live. You will absolutely love it. So we took on that invite and flew over to Nashville and we joined Funnel Hacking Live for four days. The event is actually four days. And let me tell you, this is a huge event. We're talking about 5,000 plus people in a conference area in a hotel. And you walk into this room and it's like you're attending a rock concert. The spectacle of the actual conference was impressive, like the stage and the lighting and the screens and everything like that. And all the videographers running around. It was quite a production. Now, this is not the first time they've run this event. I believe this is the fifth year they've run it. I could be wrong about that, maybe fifth or sixth year. But they draw a lot of crowds. A lot of people that are there are users of. I would say the majority are users of ClickFunnels, the software. And they actually invite some really popular and powerful speakers. Some big names like Tony Robbins speaks there. One of my favorite authors, Ryan Holiday, spoke there, and of course, the face and the founder of ClickFunnels, Russell Brunson, speaks at this conference several times. But the focus of this event is marketing. How can you better promote your business? So my first takeaway I want to share with you is when you go to this event, you realize you are going to something different. This is something special, to be honest with you. The room is filled with raving fans. People absolutely love ClickFunnels. They love Russell Brunson. I mean, people are on their Feet, cheering, screaming, just like you would do at a rock concert for your favorite band. There are people that have printed out their own T shirts with Russell Brunson's face printed all over it. Yes, I am serious. And when you experience that, you can't help but wonder, how does this happen? You know, how did this company clickfunnels and how did Russell, the founder, along with Todd, his co founder, Todd Dickerson, how did they actually make this happen? They almost have like a cult like following, like people that love Apple products or Tesla, where they'll defend the business and the product forums and in YouTube comments and things like that. After the first day of the conference, Nicole and I just sat down and we were kind of just recapping what we experienced in that first day. And I said to Nicole, these people at ClickFunnels, they didn't create a business, they created a movement. In order to create a conference like this, where all the attendees are just loving every minute of the conference, you gotta create more than just a business, you gotta create a movement. And the movement they chose to create is this idea of an independent business owner building their company from wherever they are, using the system of sales funnels. And their motto is one funnel away. And everybody believes this mantra. Everybody is on board. Everybody believes that ClickFunnels allows them to build the business they want or will allow them to build the business they want. And you see this all over the place in the conference. People really believe in the philosophy of the business just as much as the product itself. In fact, what you learn is that the philosophy of the business is actually more important than the actual product. People want to believe in something. People want to believe that they can do X, Y and Z. And they allow them to believe that through their messaging. This is very common in very popular products. I mentioned Tesla, I mentioned Apple products. By the way, if you are a fanatic about a musician or a band, that's a product. They're selling a product to you. When you pay money to go see them in concert, they're selling you a lifestyle, they're selling you a perspective, a culture, so to speak. You're part of this community of people that also love this band, right? And in ClickFunnels example, they also love this product and love the philosophy behind it. So my first takeaway is if you wanna build a huge business like they have, I mean, they have over 100,000 users, you know, they're able to sell out 5,000 seats at a conference, they're valued around a billion dollars as A company, you need to do more than just create a great business. You gotta create a movement if you're gonna move masses of people. And that starts with a philosophy. What does your company believe in? Now a lot of people might be resisting what I'm saying right now because they feel like, oh, this sounds kind of, you know, cult. Like, well, you could see it that way. But you can also see that if you're providing something that's powerful and helpful to people, why not, why not help them? More about that later. But takeaway number one is that if you're gonna build a huge business like clickfunnels, you're gonna have to create a movement behind it. Takeaway number two, and this is something that was iterated by many of the speakers on stage, that they really wanted to drill home. And I thought it was very refreshing cause I didn't expect it. And that takeaway was, if you want long term success, you need to have a superior product. Even though this is a marketing conference and ClickFunnels is all about marketing your business, the speakers on stage, especially Ryan Holiday, really drove this home, who's the author of the perennial seller, a great book I recommended here on the show. Even if you are a great marketer, you cannot, you cannot market your way to success. Long term success if your product is inferior. At the end of the day, if your competitors are better than you, if your product is just not where it needs to be, you might have short term success, but long term, you're not gonna outlast them. So as much as you're working on your marketing, you gotta work on improving your product, your service, whatever you're delivering, your audience. And I was really glad that this was emphasized because a lot of people think it's all about the marketing. Don't get me wrong, marketing is incredibly important. You have to have to have to market your business. You need to have an audience to sell to. But you don't wanna invite that audience to something that's subpar. You want to offer them the best of the best. Now you're not going to be the best overnight. So just understand, as long as you're improving your product continually, you're on the path to where you need to be and having a product that's superior. So always strive to have the best product in the market. The bottom line is, if you're looking at long term success, you want to be around in 10 years, you want to be around in 20 years, then your product has to be better than every other product in your space. It's got to outlast them. Many people ask me, how did the $100 NBA show become so successful? This is why I strive every time I get on the microphone to make this episode that I'm recording better than the last. I'm trying my best to make the best episode possible, the best podcast possible, and I just outlasted people. You know, a lot of other podcasts that started back in 2014 when I did are no longer around because they just couldn't compete anymore because they just didn't focus on the quality. We didn't take on any sponsors for over 300 episodes because we wanted to focus on a great show and really grab our audience's attention with quality and continue to improve them on that quality. We've earned the listenership of people like you who are listening right now, and we don't want to take that for granted. We want to make sure that we continue to give value and give great, great information and great tips every day on our show. So the product really matters. Can't market your way to success? Long term success. You might be able to get away with it in the short term, but you really need to focus on a great product that's better than the competition for the long run and for the long term success.

All right, my third takeaway from funnel hacking live. Chances are you are not offering enough to your customers. Let me clarify. Many of us, we are offering a product to our customer, maybe a couple products. You solve a pain point for your customers. Now many of you do this successfully and this is great. But what you're forgetting is once you have solved a problem for a customer, the first thing they're thinking is like, great, you solved this problem. But we move on to the next problems we have quickly and they're like, but what about these other problems? I have have 5, 6, 7, 10, 20 different problems in my business, in my, in my life, Whatever market you serve, can you solve these as well? They trust you. Now, you delivered on that promise in solving one problem. But what about the other problems you got? Or I should say the other problems your customers have? So many of us, we sell ourselves, but more importantly our customers short. We don't offer them anything else. We don't offer them the next thing, the next course, the next training, the next software product, the next tool, whatever it is. Many of us, we don't sell to our customers and we need to do more of that because they want it. They want the value, they want the next step, they want their next problem solved. And I thought this was a great takeaway because a lot of us, we stop short, we sell our products and we're happy and we're making revenue. But instead of asking our customers, hey, what other problems do you have? How can I solve them? Or offering a solution to those problems you know, they have, whether it's the next course or again or next tool, we just say, hey, this is what I do now. And I just continue to sell to new people. But what about your existing customers that love you already and are ready to buy the next thing you have? This is low hanging fruit. I was reminded of this recently. Let me give you a prime example from recent experience. So, as you know, we run a software company called the Webinar Ninja. It's a webinar software and we created something called the automated Webinar Challenge. Webinar Ninja allows you to create automated webinars and we created a 30 day challenge. It's a course, it's live training, it's a private Facebook group to allow people to create their automated webinar in 30 days. It's a great, great course. Now when we created this course, our intention was to sell it to get new customers for webinar Ninja, meaning that, hey, here's a course that teach you how to create an automated webinar from A to Z in 30 days. It will allow them to show them how to create the webinar inside of Webinar Ninja. And then eventually after the 30 days, they will become a webinar Ninja member and sign up for our membership and become a user of our software. After running the challenge four times, four different cohorts, we started to look at the numbers and we realized that 80% of all our sales were coming from members, people that are already members of webinar ninja customers of ours that have already bought from us. This tells us clear as day that our customers are hungry for more. And when we offered something that they need and would love to do, they're like, great, I can make more use of out of my purchase of webinar and more use of the software that I've signed up for by buying the automated Webinar Challenge. And it was a no brainer purchase for them and they're the most satisfied because they're already sold on the idea of I need to use webinars and run webinars to grow and sell my products. Yes, we had 20% of people that were not members. But this shows you the willingness of your current customers to buy what you offer if you offer it. So what you need to do is to look at what other areas can you serve your customer? Where are you under serving them? Where can you offer them something else for them to buy? And I say buy because many of us, we just give things for free. And let me tell you from experience, when you offer something of immense value like a course for free, people do not implement. They don't take it seriously, they don't value it. You got to put a price tag on it. You're going to get less people. But the people that do buy it, they're going to get more out of the course and you're going to get better success stories. And this is my experience that I have had recently in the last few months with the automated Webinar challenge. So takeaway number three, you need to offer more to your customers, offer more things for them to buy, to improve their lives, improve their business. And when I say buy, you're giving them more value, they're giving them what they want and you're giving them a product and an offer that's reasonable, but at the same time enough for them to take it seriously. So to recap my three biggest takeaways from Funnel Hacking Live, number one, if you want to create a humongous business, you got to create a movement and not just a business. Number two, if you want long term success, you need to really make sure you have a superior product. And number three, offer more to your customers. Thank you so much for listening to the $100 show.
