I'm your host, your coach, your teacher Omar Zenholm. I'm also the co founder of the Hundred Dollar mba, a complete business training and community online. And in today's lesson you will learn how to just get started with your business today. You've been wanting to start a business for some time. You have an idea, you just don't know what the next step is. In today's lesson, I want to show you one thing you can do today to get started so you can start building the business you've been thinking about for months, for years, or for decades. It's going to take you an hour or two to get started, but then you'll be started. You'll feel better about yourself, you'll feel excited, you'll get the ball rolling and you'll have momentum. Entrepreneurs do, they take action. And this is what I want to encourage you to do in today's episode. So let's get into it. Let's get down to business. Many people never actually get started with their business. They get stuck, they get held back, they have an idea, they just don't know how to implement. So I want to give you a game plan, something to do right now, like today, to get started with your business. The first thing we need to address is we need to understand that every business needs data. It needs information to be able to make some decisions, to take action. You need to know your customer. You need to understand who you're serving. You need to understand what their problems are, what they're suffering from, so you can give them a cure. Your cure being your product, your service, your business. This is what people pay money for. Why is this so important? Because you don't want to build something that doesn't make money. You want to build something that people want, that people are happy to spend money on. You don't want to be chasing customers. You want them to be chasing you. So if you want them to chase you, you need to have something they want. So how do you know what they want? Well, you need to find out. And this is what today's first step is learning about your audience. And in order to learn about an audience, you have to have an audience, right? You have to actually serve them and have them come to you so you can find out what they need. You need to find out what they need. So today's first step to move forward in your business is to commit to learning about your audience. Now, how do you do this? Well, you got to start talking about what you're looking to get into. Let's say, for example, your business idea is you want to take people on a walking tour in different cities in Europe. You want to start a tour guide company. You love travel, you love Europe, you know it well. You've been there several times, but you're not really sure how to get started with this. How do you take that first trip with your first group of travelers to that first city in Europe? How do you organize that? How do you find out which city they want to go to or what do they want to see or what their needs are or what they're willing to pay for. When's the best time to do that, all that kind of stuff. Most people just stop there. Now, what I want you to do is stop thinking, okay? You gotta start doing. And what I mean by doing is you gotta start writing and reaching out to people in the world with information that can help them in this area.
Why?
Because if you give, they will return the favor and give you information. They're gonna comment on the information you're giving. They're going to have a conversation with you. And this starts with just writing about what you're talking about. What you do. So start with any city. In this example of being a tour guide and starting a tour guide company, let's choose Rome. Okay? And as simple as writing a few paragraphs of the biggest mistakes people make when they go to Rome, or the things I thought about Rome before I went that were totally false. Or. Or what to pack when traveling to Italy or what to pay for an accommodation in the city of Rome. These are all great pieces of information that people that are interested in going to Rome want to know. Now you're asking, where do I write this? Well, you have a few options. If you're feeling adventurous, start a blog. And you can start that with WordPress or you can start that with Weebly or Squarespace. Whatever you choose, you can go to our resources page over@100mba.net resources and you can choose one of our tools that we support, that we recommend. But the point is that you could start a blog in an hour. Okay? It's so easy with technology. And you can start writing your first blog post on your blog. If you're not feeling that adventurous, write a Facebook post on your Facebook profile or on Instagram. The point here is that you're just trying to serve the audience and you're just saying, hey, I'm interested in this. I'm starting a business. I'm starting my first experiment with this idea. Some people think that in order to start a business, you have to incorporate first and you have to have a logo and you have to have a website and have to all this other stuff and you have to announce the world, I'm this big company with an office and everything. No, you don't have to do any of that. What you need to do is understand your customer first. And by the way, you can just have people PayPal, you, you know, $1,000 for a three day guided tour in Rome. Once you get all the information you need and you can communicate with them on email, right? Or on WhatsApp. You don't have to have all the trimmings to just do a pilot program. Yes, you want to have this amazing fancy company, but you got to start somewhere with something small to validate the idea to see if you even want to do this business. If it's a lucrative business, if it's a business that actually is profitable, that you actually pull it off. Baby steps. And the first step you're going to take today is to start talking about it. Start talking about it by giving great information about what you do. Be a conversation starter. If you want to start A Facebook group. Go ahead and do that. That's even better. And invite people to the group to talk about travel in Europe in my example. Right. Or whatever you do health and fitness or finance or skateboarding or whatever it is. This is how you get started. You start building an audience, you start building a community. You start building some information and some data that you can learn about what people want. A lot of people, they get an idea and they think, well, there's so many people that have this idea or do this already. Who's going to listen to me? Well, you're unique. You have your unique voice. Just piggybacking on the travel concept or idea. I love Rick Steves. I think he's a really nice guy. I love his videos on YouTube. He's a great travel guide, but he's not everybody's cup of tea. Some people, you know, prefer other travel guides. You're going to resonate with people that really like you and your message and how you approach travel or how you approach your topic. But it's never going to happen if you don't take some action. And the first action you can easily take is to write about your topic, to write about what you're thinking about offering, or even just writing about helpful tips and hints in your subject of every expertise. The point here is that you want to start the conversation, get people to comment, get people to share their opinions and their experiences. And you can do this. And it takes 5, 10, 15 minutes a day to do a new post every day. And now you got the ball rolling. Now you're getting the creative juices flowing. Now you're doing. Now you've started a business.

You're playing the loot. Yeah, and it sounds pretty good, right?
Discover is accepted at 99% of places that take credit cards nationwide. Based on the February 2025 Nielsen report, one of the most powerful things in business is momentum. And what I want to do today is get you started so you can start building momentum and start getting your ideas in a good flow, to be in a flow state. You'll get excited the moment you start writing. You start doing what I'm describing to you, getting people involved in your idea, getting information, starting discussions. I'm not asking too much here to get you started. Yes, there's other steps. Yes, you need to have a strategy and a business plan and understand your unique selling proposition and how you're going to market your business. Yes, that is coming. But a lot of us, we stop and we don't even get started because we don't take one step forward. And I'm giving you one step forward. And there are plenty of episodes and plenty of lessons on this podcast. Just hit subscribe and you have access to 1400 of them to get you to the next step and the next step and the next step. One of the best things about having a daily post to write about your topic is that you start crafting your voice as a brand, as a business, as an entrepreneur. How do you want to be presented? You start realizing really what you believe. You start analyzing what you're writing. You start forming your identity as an entrepreneur. That can't happen in your head. It has to happen in the world. And if you don't actually put something in the world, even if it's just a few posts every week, you've put your ideas out there, you've put information, you've put helpful tips and hints, and you're starting to gather an audience. If you're listening today and you are frustrated about not getting started, please trust me. Get started with this step. If you don't feel better, if you don't feel like things are moving forward after two weeks, then you could stop. But I guarantee you won't because you'll start to realize, wow, this is what I needed to do. I needed to get started. I needed to get off the fence. And you'll feel invigorated. But the difference between people that have businesses and the people that think about business is action. They took action. They implemented their ideas. They started. And that's what I want you to do. Thank you so much for listening and I'll check you in tomorrow's episode Q and A Wednesday. I'll see you then. Take care.
