I'm also the co founder of the $100 MBA, a complete business training and community online over at 100mba.net and in today's lesson you will learn how to create a Compelling Sales Page your sales page, in a lot of ways is the most important page on your website. Often it's your homepage or maybe it's an internal page selling a particular product or service. But it's important because it's your chance convince your visitor what you're offering. Your product, your service, your whatever is worth their money. If you don't convey enough value on that sales page, they're just simply not going to buy. They're not going to see why it's worth it. So in today's episode, I'm going to focus on the basics. I'm going to show you exactly what's important and what's not important. To include in your sales page or sales page is you might be selling several products or services. It's easy to get overwhelmed. It's easy to think everything is important. But that's just simply not the case. Let's make sure we tackle the most important aspects of a sales page in today's lesson. So let's get into it. Let's get down to business. As we begin today's lesson, let's ask ourselves what's the most important thing on a sales page? Is it the images? Is it the graphics? Is it the animations? Is it the high production videos? I'm here to tell you that all that is nice and all, but they are not the most important aspect on your sales page. The most important thing are the words, what you communicate on that page. The words on any sales page are the key to anybody opening up their mind, opening up their hearts, opening up their wallets. A great short blog post or article that I want you to read about. This is one by Justin Jackson called Words, and you can find it@justinjackson.ca words.HTML. it's one of the most popular blog posts ever when it comes to website design. And when you go to the page, you'll notice there's just words on the page. No fancy animations, no crazy graphics, nothing. But the point of this article, the point of this blog post is that many of us obsess over fancy design and animation and magical things that happen on a website. But the most powerful tool on the web is still words. The words that your visitor, your website visitor will read on your website, on your sales pages are the key differentiator between them staying on your website, continuing to read, continuing to be convinced of your value versus them leaving. This applies to any kind of videos you have on there. On those videos you are saying words, right? And any high production video has a script and that script has words. It all boils down to the words. That means if you can convince your audience with your words that you have value, everything else is gravy. The images you put, the videos, any kind of other multimedia is only gonna enhance that. But without the words, all that other stuff is not gonna help you. So what kind of words are we talking about here? Well, what a lot of people think their sales page should have is a list of what they're going to get. Features, how many videos, how many modules, when really that's not what they're buying. People are buying a result. Whether your product is a software, a course, coaching, a book, whatever it is, people are looking for an after picture. They want to change. They want their life to be different in some way. Even if it's a product that gives them fulfillment or happiness or entertainment. The point here is that they're looking for a result, not the actual little features that you think are important because you worked so hard on them. Those features, you equal a result. So an easy way to know what words to write on those pages, those sales pages, is to use the PASS or some people pronounce it as PAS formula and it's an acronym, pas, which stands for Problem, Agitate, Solve. And this is a good way, a good structure for you to start with the words on your sales page. What problem are you solving? Identify the problem first. This is going to attract the reader to keep on reading because they're going to identify with that problem. Yes, I have that problem. Are you going snowboarding soon and don't want to have a miserable first few days falling on your butt. I'm defining very clearly a problem that somebody might have if they visited my website, visited my sales page. Yeah, that's me. You want people to identify. That's why it's so important to identify the problem. That's the headline. That's what gets them in. Your next job is after identifying clearly with a line or two of your problem, is to agitate the problem. Really make them feel what that problem's all about. Maybe some of the things they may have tried and they still have the problem. Maybe some of the worries they have if they don't solve the problem. Maybe some of the things they're suffering because of the problem. A good example. This is like in the health and fitness space. Are you looking to lose those extra pounds that are causing you to be overweight? I just identified the problem and then I agitate. Are you worried about heart disease and diabetes and not being able to play with your kids or play catch with them when they're getting a little older? I'm really agitating, showing them or just really expressing their own fears, really making the problem a reality, really putting it into real terms. Now, the reason why this is important is because you're showing the reader, you're showing the person on your site, you understand the problem and you understand what they're going through. You have empathy, you understand the avatar, you understand the audience member. And when people feel understood, automatically, they have the tendency to believe that you can help them. If you understand me, you can help me. But if you don't show you understand them, then it's very hard for them to believe that you can help them. That's why you shouldn't jump right into, hey, I got a great product for you. This is what it is. Identify the problem. Agitate the problem. Lastly, S stands for solve. Show the solution to the problem. Show them the after photo. Show them. When I say after photo, I'm talking about metaphorically and maybe even physically showing them an after photo. But describe what their life is going to be like after they consume your product, after they go through your program, after they use your software, after they read your book, whatever it is, you got to show them how you solve the problem and what life is going to be like. Show them the after picture, the happy ending. You need to have these aspects on your sales page for it to be compelling. Now, if you want to explain how you're going to get there and you want to start including the features and the benefits and what it means for them, and then finally the price. That's okay. You may want to do that at the bottom of the page, or maybe on a separate page, like on a features page. But the point here is that that's all that matters. Being able to identify the problem, agitating or explaining how much you understand it, and then lastly showing how you're going to solve it, how your program gets results, what other clients have said, what life looks like on the other side.

To wrap up today's lesson, a compelling sales page must have compelling copy, must really go straight to the heart and identify the problem your customers are having. Explain how much you know about the problem and the worries they have, as well as how you solve it or what your solution looks like, what their life is going to look like afterwards. Everything else is gravy after that. Animations, illustrations, sliders and images and videos. All that stuff will enhance the copy, will allow the copy to really pop, but the words are what matters.
