Today's Q and A Wednesday's question is from Paul and Paul asks how do I build a sales funnel on WordPress? Many online businesses are trying to build sales funnels because it's the easiest way.

To hold your customer by the hand.

Step by step to the point of sale and beyond. Now the concept of sales funnels have.

Been around for a very long time. I've known them for over a decade but they became popular via the software Click Funnels. ClickFunnels is a company started by Russell.

Brunson and they really made the sales.

Funnel really popular and well known through their software. And most people build their, you know, funnels or I should Say many people build their funnels through Click Funnels, which is a SaaS product, a software off WordPress. But if you run a WordPress website, you might be wondering, how do I.

Build a sales funnel right on my site without having to use something like Click Funnels? I'll be answering that and actually going a little bit into what exactly is a sales funnel, why would you want.

It, and how to build it on.

WordPress in today's episode. So let's get into it.

Let's get down to business.

A sales funnel is basically a series of website pages that lead from one to the next. A very simple sales funnel would be.

Offering a free guide or a free cheat sheet for people to download. They give their name and email address in a form, and in the next.

Step, they see a thank you page.

There might be a video, and on.

That thank you page might be an offer like, hey, would you like to.

Take my email introductory course? It's $29. And if they click on the buy.

Now button, it takes them to the checkout page.

And on the checkout page, there might.

Be an upsell, or the upsell might be after the checkout page, and then after the upsell is the confirmation page.

And access to their product.

Now, as you can see, all these.

Pages are step by step and they're all linked. One leads to another.

So technically, people ask, how do I link all these pages and have it.

All flow perfectly like that? And this is why the software click funnels has become very popular.

But I'm here to tell you, you don't need to have clickfunnels to build a sales funnel.

They just built a software to make it easy for those who want to do that.

And people like Paul, who asked this.

Question on Q and A Wednesday today, they have a WordPress website and they.

Want to just build a simple sales.

Funnel and have all these pages link on their existing WordPress website without having to do any, any kind of gymnastics, right?

So here are some options. Number one, it's easy for you to create a sales funnel manually. If the sales funnel doesn't have an.

Actual purchase, if it's just like download something free thank you page, it's pretty simple. You can just create these pages and just tell the page, once somebody signs up for that free opt in to.

Redirect them or to send them to.

The next page, which would be the next page.

You would create like a thank you page.

It gets a little bit more complex.

When you have some sort of payment step where they're at A checkout page.

And you have upsells and down sales.

Because you got to keep track of.

All that information as well as the.

Information of the person that has signed up via the email. You want to make sure this is all congruent and you don't make the customer fill in more information than they have to.

This is when some software can help. Now, you can use clickfunnels if you want, because they do have a WordPress plugin.

But from my understanding, and I could be wrong, but just from my understanding.

The WordPress plugin doesn't actually have all.

The features as if you were using their platform, using their pages or servers.

But that is an option that you can look into.

There is a third option that I actually really recommend. This is something that I learned about recently and actually it's a pretty smart piece of software.

This is a WordPress plugin called Cart Flows.

And this is a software that allows.

You to build sales funnels right inside of WordPress. Now how does it do this?

Well, it actually integrates with WooCommerce and WooCommerce is a checkout plugin. It's absolutely free. You just need to install it before you install cartflows. And Cart Flows actually walks you step by step how to do this.

And actually I think in their setup.

Wizard, they'll install WooCommerce, that plugin for you in that process.

Now what Cartflows does is that it.

Uses your existing website builder, your, your page builder on WordPress, whether you're using, you know, Thrive Architect or Elementor, which is very famous, or Divi, which is also very popular to create these sales funnels. It actually creates all the pages for you, all the templates, they link them all up and you just connect your product on WooCommerce with this.

With Car Flows, it's actually pretty simple.

And WooCommerce is very, very popular. And this is kind of why this is kind of smart from Car Flows to kind of integrate with them.

Because there are a lot of plugins.

That will integrate with WooCommerce. So for example, if you use Paid Memberships Pro, which is a great memberships plugin, it will connect with WooCommerce to allow your products on WooCommerce to be membership products if you're having, you know, if you're selling a membership site.

But of course, you could sell standalone.

Products and physical products. It's absolutely brilliant.

Carflows is fairly new, it's about two.

Years old, but they're very popular and.

I've used it myself. And actually was quite surprised how well.

Developed it was and how far along its capabilities are.

Even just for being around for two.

Years, I'm pretty sure it's currently at $300 a year or 297 a year. That's pretty inexpensive for software, especially if we compare that to the cost of clickfunnels, which starts at $99 a month and can go up to 2. 97amonth and beyond even. And guess what, you're building all these Pages right on WordPress. Your whole funnel is created there. It's super simple once you get used to it.

The one Achilles heel I have to.

Say about cart flows is that you.

Have to kind of watch a lot.

Of videos to learn how to use it. There's no like kind of clean step by step tutorials, written tutorials or help docs. There are not that many and not enough for you to actually just jump into something or jump into an article and learn how to do it and then jump back out. You actually have to watch a bunch of videos, a bunch of longer videos to be able to kind of work your way around it. If you have a question on how to use it, it's a little, little bit of a gripe on my part but you know, it's actually pretty easy to use without the tutorials. But I like to jump into tutorials from time to time to know or make sure I'm doing it right.

Having said that, the videos are comprehensive.

And they're easy to follow and you should be alright. So that's my recommendation when it comes to building funnels inside of WordPress.

So why would you want to build a funnel in the first place?

The bottom line is, is that it just makes the experience easier for your customer. Single call to action on each page and funnels have proven to convert so it's worth using if you're trying to sell a single product on your, on your website, whether it's a book, whether it's, whether it's a program or coaching.

My recommendation is to always think of sales funnel as a concept and then.

There'S software to implement it. Okay, so funnels are something that have been around forever. It's the concept of taking the customer by the hand, step by step and then you just need some software like car flows for WordPress in this example to build these funnels on your website.

By the way, sales funnels have been around forever. Before the Internet even, they just weren't on websites. For example, when you go buy a car, you first opt in for something free like a test drive. And then after the test drive, the.

Salesman makes you an offer, says, hey.

I can get you this car at this price. And usually it's the starting or base model.

And then they try to upsell you to a higher model.

If you want more features or more types of amenities that you want, a better stereo, a sunroof, things like that.

Then after that they even upsell you.

For floor mats and maybe some extended warranty or some sort of service package. And then they deliver the car and they might even put a ribbon on it.

And that's kind of the thank you page.
