In today's episode, you will learn where to find a great paid advertising marketer. When you want to invest into paid advertising, you don't want to waste your money on spinning your wheels. You want somebody that knows what they're doing and can maximize your ad spend dollars. Whether you're running Facebook ads or YouTube ads, LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, hiring somebody to manage your ads will not only save you time and headaches, it's also going to save you money in the long run. Because again, they're going to optimize these ads to make sure that you're getting the most out of your dollars. But where do you find a great paid ads marketer? That's what we get into in today's lesson. So let's get into it. Let's get down to business. I've been running paid ads for my businesses for a little over nine years now. In the first three years I ran all the ads myself. I learned how to run Facebook ads, I learned how to run Google Ad. I figured it out. I wasted a lot of money in that process, knowing what works and what doesn't. And guess what, what works today doesn't work tomorrow. Sometimes because things change, the platforms evolve, the market changes, the audience changes, and you have to be up to date. What I realized in that time period is that this is not sustainable. I can't continue to do this because this is really a full time job. This is somebody's passion, somebody's career and I have to run a whole business. I need somebody to focus on making my paid ads work. And that's when I started to work with an expert. And I've worked with many paid ad experts over the course of the last six or so years. So in today's episode I want to show you how to find a great paid ads expert and how to know they're great when you find them. Let me start off by saying that the easiest way and the best way to find a great paid ads person is through a recommendation. Somebody that you know that's running paid ads and you see their ads and you think they're great and you think that the are doing well and you know the numbers are working for them. Find out who they're using. Are they using an agency, a freelancer? See if they are willing to share the contact and allow you to use that person as well or that company. This is how I kind of got started. A friend of Mine. Grant Baldwin was running ads. I asked him who he was using. He recommended somebody, and I started working with them, and they delivered because I knew Grant was happy. This is the easiest way to make sure you're going to get a great find and a great hire that can really hit the ground running and really optimize your ads. Now, if that's not an option for you, if you don't know anybody in the industry, if you don't know anybody who's running ads, you don't have anybody you've networked with yet that's running paid ads, then you're gonna have to do something different. You're gonna have to go down a different route. Now, there's many places you can look for when it comes to paid ads, but the first thing you need to do is know what you're looking for, right? So you can attract the right person. And I would suggest if you're getting started with somebody, start off with one or two channels, not every channel in the book, right? So if you're really interested in just getting started in Facebook and Instagram, just focus on that. Maybe just YouTube or maybe just LinkedIn. Find somebody who is good at that. Because usually you're gonna have somebody that is great at Facebook and Instagram and not so bad at Google. But it's rare to find somebody who is very good at all the platforms and knows how to optimize for everything and knows and stays up to d date with all the changes. Whether it's Twitter and YouTube or Capterra or whatever it is, you need to make sure that that person is somewhat an expert in a few channels and particularly the channels you want to start with. So Facebook and Instagram is usually where people start and because they have such a large audience. So find somebody who's really good at that. First, understand what you're looking for. If you're on a budget and you want to just try this out and you don't want to spend, you know, two, three, $4,000 a month on a paid ads marketer, then a to start is Fiverr. Fiverr has changed over the years. It's not just $5 deals anymore. You can hire a really experienced paid ad marketer on Fiverr for as little as $500 a month. And this is somebody who's experienced, has great reviews, and you can literally search, run paid ads, and you just find somebody who has great reviews. You know, 300, 400, 500 reviews, five stars. Read the reviews, message them, ask them some questions, tell them what you're looking to do. Ask them what the $500 covers, how many ads, for how long, how much optimization? Is there any fee for extra ad spend? Find out, because there are some agencies that will have a flat fee. Like they'll charge you like $500 a month and they'll run, you know, x amount of ads for you and maintain them. Some say there's a base fee and then they take a percentage of your ad spend. So say, for example, you spend $10,000 in ads, they want 10% of that spend, so they'll get an extra thousand dollars every month. I'm not a big fan of that model, understand why they do it. I just don't see the value as a consumer. Why? If I'm giving you more money to run ads, why are you taking a percentage of it? It's not like you're doing any extra work, maybe a little bit extra work, but it actually is easier when you have a bigger budget, you have more money, you have more to work with. And I only know this because again, I ran my own ads for three years, so I kind of steer away from that model where they want to get a cut of my ad spend. More and more agencies and freelancers are doing this now, but there's still a good number. They just have a flat fee. So if you're on a budget, fiverr is a good place to get started and look and just get your feel of doing this and just putting up $500 a month to get somebody to run the ads. Now, trust me, if they are experienced and they know what they're doing, $500 is nothing in compared to what you're gonna save in terms of time, effort as well as just pure cash from not running ads that don't work right. These people are gonna save you money in the long run. Another option is to go to upwork.com this is more finding somebody who's going to come in house and work very closely with you. They're a little bit more expensive. Usually they're an hourly rate. And you can find somebody between 50 to 60 to $70 an hour to run ads. And it might equal to something like, you know, two to $3,000 a month. Another way to get a great recommendation to find an agency or a freelancer that knows how to deliver for your specific type of business is to be of Facebook groups. If you're say, for example, in the fitness industry, be part of fitness industry, Facebook groups, other business owners, other gym owners, whatever niche you're in, join these groups. Because in Those groups you can ask questions like, hey, does anybody have a recommendation for a great paid ads person? These people who are using somebody, they're in your niche, they are going to work with somebody that understands your marketplace, your industry. They're going to hit the ground running. So that recommendation is going to come and really be of value for you. Another place to find a good service to run your paid ads is maybe a software you're already using. Some services like email marketing services, CRMs, they will offer a service to run your Facebook ads, to run your Instagram ads. So check with the software providers that you're using already. They might have an a la carte service that's pretty inexpensive already because you're a customer. So check that out. Another option that I used when I was transitioning from doing my ads myself to having an expert is I used a tool called adespresso that allowed me to optimize my ads for Facebook and for Instagram and for Google. It's a software really that helps me really split, test properly and save myself some time and headaches. But they also, in that software, they use the software along with some consulting and with some expert advice and they charge for that. But it's really inexpensive for the optimization. Somebody comes in and fix up your ads, fix up your audiences, and it's more of like they jump in, they take care of things and then they jump out. And it's kind of a as need basis and it tends to be inexpensive, a lot more expensive than somebody on retainer. But it might be a good starting point before you hire somebody as a freelancer or even full time at some point. And that leads me to my last option which is hiring a full time paid ads expert. And a lot of businesses invest in this, somebody that is working 40 hours on optimizing all their paid marketing. If you're heavy on paid marketing and you're spending 10, 20, $30,000 a month, it is worth getting somebody full time that's dedicated, that understands your brand, that understands your messaging, that is eating and breathing, making sure you're getting the most out of your paid advertising. This is probably the most expensive option, but in a lot of ways for some companies it makes sense because they're spending so much money on ads. This can range between 5 to 6 to even $10,000 a month for a full time hire. My recommendation is to look at this full time hire only if you're willing to spend three times their salary on ad spend, because that's a lot of ads, that's a lot of different kinds of audiences they have to create different platform and that's a lot of time. And you're gonna need somebody that's super, super dedicated. Gas, snacks, tolls. This trip is draining my wallet.

To wrap up today's lesson, finding an expert to run your paid ads is a great investment. I wish I didn't spend three years trying to figure it out myself. Yeah, I learned a few things and I learned what you need to make it happen. But I could have done that in six months. I spent two and a half years fighting the idea of spending money to make money, spending a bit of money to make a lot of money with paid ads, finding great customers and growing my business. Listen in on Friday to see if you want. It's that simple. Thank you so much for doing that in advance. Before I go, I want to leave you with this. One of the things a lot of new entrepreneurs take a while to understand. Your business needs to continually market. It has continually to bring in new customers. And one of the fastest, easiest ways to do this is with paid ads. This is not optional. You have to bring in new customers always. And if you're brand new to the market and you don't have an audience already, then this is something you really need to start doing. This is money well spent because you can calculate how much money you're spending and how much money you make with that ad spend. There's very few things in life and business where you can really see an ROI that directly. And that's why I love running efficient, useful, valuable paid ads. Thanks so much for listening and I'll check you in Monday's episode. I'll see you then.
