So I wanted to say thanks for showing us love on Apple Podcasts. In today's lesson you will learn the easiest way to create content regularly. We all know we need to be creating valuable content for our audience on the regular. But where do we get the time? Where do we get the inspiration? What do we write about? What do we do videos about? How do you get started? What is the best way if you have limited amount of time to get content out there? Well, I'm going to give you one effective hack that you can get started with today. With no prep, with no cost, with no lead time. You don't have to be an expert, you don't have to have expensive equipment, you don't need a production manager. You can literally get started right now. I'm going to walk you through the steps so you can publish content regularly starting from today. So let's get into it. Let's get down to business.
They put hot honey sauce on the snack wrap. McDonald's outdid themselves again. The classic snack wrap we all know and love paired with the sweet heat of hot honey sauce. Just what we needed to make it even more perfect. You know the drill, so go to McDonald's and try it today.
A lot of people scramble and struggle with the concept of constantly publishing good content for their audience. They don't know where to get the time to write blog posts or to create a podcast or to start a YouTube channel or to publish on social. They get bogged down in the planning, and the idea is in their head that they get what's called analysis paralysis and never get any content out. Well, today I'm going to give you a very simple, simple strategy to get out regular content every single day. I'm going to show you the basic level, like how you can get started and not need any other help other than your own sweat equity. And then where to go from there, how to expand and scale the system so it works for you. And here it is. It's very simple. The easiest way for you to create regular content is for you not to create, but to document. This is a strategy that's very well known by Gary Vaynerchuk. Gary Vaynerchuk doesn't create special content. Yes, he has a few shows, but really most of his content is just documenting what he's doing. Whether he's in a meeting, whether he's in a commute, whether he's answering questions right on the fly, whether he's getting on stage in the moment. He's just recording everything he does. Now, I was actually a little bit tentative to give the Gary Vaynerchuk example, because Gary Vaynerchuk is this concept on beast mode, like, it's on the maximum level hardness. If this was a video game, okay, you don't need to do what Gary does, okay? Gary is going to another level. He's got a huge team behind him to get all this content out. He's got a film crew or film crews that are constantly following him. You don't need to do all that. You need to start at the basic level. If Gary Vaynerchuk is Walmart, you're gonna start with just being a corner store in your local neighborhood, okay? And guess what? You have a whole production studio right in your pocket. Smartphones are absolutely incredible. What it can produce for you is just outstanding. If you have a smartphone that's a few years old or newer, you have the equivalent of hundreds of thousands of dollars of Equipment. If you were to do what I'm about to tell you to do just five or 10 years ago. So I want you to start with a simple, simple challenge, a personal challenge. You're going to record a video message to your audience every single day. You can start with just weekdays. And your video message doesn't have to be long. You don't have to have a cap. You can make it 2 minutes, 3 minutes, 10 minutes. It's up to you. I know a lot of people will tell you, oh, because of the algorithms. You should go 10 minutes at least right now. Let's not worry about the algorithms right now. Let's get the ball rolling and get content out. And I actually did this experiment myself several times in my career recently when I was in lockdown and quarantine, I challenged myself to produce a video every day. And it was just documenting my day. I just flip on the camera on my phone, and this was just me recording video. It wasn't live to the world on Facebook or on any other platform. I recorded the video on my phone and then I uploaded it to social. I sent it to my subscribers on a newsletter. And you can put it wherever you want to do put it on YouTube. Up to you. But the bare minimum of the easiest thing is just to record a video and put it on the social platforms that you frequent. And literally, I'm just putting on the camera and saying, hey, everybody, how you doing today? This is what's on my to do today. This is what I'm doing today. This is what my day looks like. I might even talk about yesterday. Yesterday was a real challenging day. This is why it was challenging. And the more you do it, the more you'll feel more inclined to be transparent, authentic, and just be yourself. Don't worry about sharing too much. In fact, the more vulnerable you are, the more it will resonate with your audience. The whole goal of this activity here is just to produce content on the regular. So you're just putting out new videos every day. This, of course, is called a vlog. Now, I don't want to call it a vlog because it sounds so committal and it sounds like it has to be super highly produced, like you're a YouTuber and no, you could just flip on your camera, on your phone, record a video. And that's what I did. And it was a great exercise because, one, if you're not comfortable being on camera, it gets you comfortable because of the reps you're putting in. Number two, it forces you to think about your audience as you're speaking to put yourself in their shoes. This is a great mindset to be in because that's how you solve problems for your audience and produce great products and services for them. If you do that long enough, you're going to be able to really uncut lock a few things in your business to make more revenue to grow and expand. Next, you pull back the current. You're honest about how you run your business. People love to find out how things are done. This is why people go to like the Hershey Chocolate Factory. They want to know how the chocolate bar is made. It's fascinating and by you sharing the struggles, the challenges, the wins. People go along the journey with you and understand why you do what you do. And they get bought in the why and that's why they become customers. So this is just stage one. You can just commit to maybe doing a video every single day for the next two weeks. If you find one of your videos really resonates, guess what? You can turn one of those videos into a blog post. You can get a freelance writer to transcribe and really edit that transcription to a really good blog post that you can put on your website. If you find another video really resonates with your audience or got a lot of views or likes or comments, you may want to make it a podcast episode. There's a great person that you should follow on Twitter. His name is Naval and his platform of choice is Twitter. And he's on Twitter a lot. And his tweets are very famous. He tweets out some really thought provoking things in business and life and philosophy. And the tweets that get really a lot of traction. He produces small little podcast episodes. He's got a podcast called the Naval Podcast. And his episodes are like a minute, two minutes, sometimes five minutes. And he just discusses or explains that tweet. So again, you can take something that works and I don't want to say repurpose, but take that content and reshape it into a new form of content like a blog post, like a podcast. You're reproducing it with that intention, with that content in mind. Now, obviously, if you can afford it and you can hire some people to help you with this, this can really speed things up. But it all starts with you just getting in the habit of, of producing that video, that piece of content every single day. And when I say produce, you're just documenting. Hey guys, I'm about to walk into a meeting here at WeWork. This is my monthly meeting with My accountant and my lawyer, we go through the numbers. Sometimes you gotta do things in business that are not fun. This is one of those times. Okay, so that's an example of just you documenting what's happening on the flip side. Hey, I'm here in my coworking space. We're actually about to join a lunch and learn about this topic. We have the vice president of marketing from Canva that's going to be speaking. I'm really looking forward to it, actually. I'm going to ask a question, and this is my question I'm going to ask. Hopefully I can shoot a video of me asking it. And the reply? If it all works out as planned, I'll post that video tomorrow. That's it. Documentary style. Get that content out.

To wrap up today's lesson, in order for you to just get in the habit of putting out good content to your audience. Document, document, document. Be honest and just get it out there. Word of caution. The one thing that's going to stop you is perfectionism. Is you saying, oh, it's not good enough. Who cares about this? No one's going to think this is interesting. My life is boring. All that stuff. You think it's boring, but guess what? There are a lot of people out there that think what you think is interesting is boring. You might like action movies, but I'm pretty sure I can find you millions of people that hate action movies. It might seem boring to you because that's what you do every day. It's what you're used to. But someone who's out there outside your world doesn't experience what you experience every day. They think it's interesting. Wow. It's a day in the life. I'm learning so much by just watching what you do every day. Thanks so much for listening to the Hunter lmba show. That wraps up today's lesson. But today's episode's not over. It's Free Ride Friday. If it makes it any easier for you to get started with documenting, with shooting a video, just saying, hey, this is what I'm doing right now and you put it out in the world just to get the ball rolling, do this. I'm giving you the script of your first video. Say, I just heard this Strategy on the $100 MBA show from this guy named Omar. He said I should start documenting my day, my thoughts, my to do list, what I'm doing, my struggles, my challenges, and this is what I'm going to try. This is my first at it. Hopefully he's right. Hopefully this works. I'm going for it. Just get transparent. Just get honest and just get started. Put it on me. You know, just blame me for you doing this. Okay, I got your back. In the sense that I believe in you. I think that you could do this. Give this a shot. And my advice is please commit to it for at least two weeks so you can reap the benefits and see the wheels move. Thanks so much for listening and I'll check you in Monday's episode. I'll see you then. Take care.
