2 Feb 2026 · 16 min
This is a transcript of a $100 MBA podcast episode (MBA1774) hosted by Omar Zenhom (April 27, 2021). The host argues that financial stability enables solving most personal and business problems, calls the counter-claim "BS," and gives tactical advice: make making money a top daily priority, perform at least one direct money-making task each day (webinars, partner outreach, vendor negotiations, email campaigns) until it becomes a habit (≈40 days), and focus on activities with direct near-term revenue impact. The transcript also contains multiple commercial ad reads (Intuit QuickBooks, Dell Tech Day, McDonald's, Edible, Metro).

Hey oh. Welcome to the Hunter. Welcome to our MBA show. Real World Practical business lessons delivered daily every single day with our daily 10 minute business lessons for the Real World. I'm your host, your coach, your teacher Omar Zenholm. I'm also the co founder of Webinar Ninja, an independent software company I started with my business partner back in 2014. And in today's episode we Get Real. Today you're going to learn why money solves all your problems and how to get it. You've probably heard the saying before, money won't solve all your problems. Well in today's lesson I'm going to actually smash that myth. I am going to show and break down how money does solve all your problems, your money problems and your non money problems. This is just the reality of the world and this is the reality of the world since the beginning of civilization. I'm going to explain why as well as how to prioritize money in your life to make sure it can solve your problems, how you can make sure it's something that you get on a regular basis and how to really build wealth. There's a difference between having a bunch of cash at some period of your life and having real wealth. There's a lot to cover in today's episode, so let's get into it. Let's get down to business.
You've made it on time for the McDonald's breakfast menu. You think to yourself, finally, I could start my day with my perfect breakfast. But what if breakfast could be even more perfect with the hot honey sausage egg biscuit? It finally is. This won't last forever, so go to McDonald's and get it while you can. Ba da ba ba ba.
Money doesn't solve all your problems. I am calling bs. Seriously, I want to start today's episode by just getting real when it comes to money. Now, I'm a financial expert, I'm not an accountant. But I can share with you from my own experience in life, in business, the effect money can have on every aspect of your life. First of all, let's talk about money for a moment. When you have money problems, when you can't pay your rent, when you can't ensure your next meal is paid for, when you don't have personal security, it's very hard for you to solve or focus on on any other problem, okay? If you need to make sure your family's taken care of, you have shelter, you have food, your car payments are paid. If this is your top concern, if money's an issue to the point where you don't have that solved, then every other problem is irrelevant, okay? You can't solve for your physical health problems or your mental health problems, or for your relationships or your spiritual health or whatever it is. This is just not a priority anymore. You're in survival mode, okay? So all those problems take a backseat. So right off the bat, what I'm saying is the lack of money, the lack of having that financial stability doesn't even allow you to even begin to think about solving other non financial problems. You just don't have the bandwidth and you just don't prioritize it. Now, let's say you have that financial stability. You have that ability to know that, hey, I know that my rent or my mortgage is going to get paid, my car is going to be paid, I will have money in the bank and I'll have food on the table and my basic needs are covered. Now, I'm not saying that automatically because all your financial problems are solved, that your personal and relationship issues are solved and your mental health and all that kind of stuff is solved. But if you don't have money, then solving those problems are nearly impossible. This is just the facts, okay? You can't go see a counselor for your mental health or for your relationships. If you don't have money to spend on that, if you can't afford it, who gets the best results when it comes to their physical health? People that have personal trainers. That costs money, okay? You can't even attempt to get maximum results without that financial backing. Okay? Yes, you can go to the gym on your own or go for a run, but it becomes very, very hard without money. You're just basically going uphill and making life really difficult on you because of the lack of funds you have to support to solve for all your other problems. Yes, there are miserable billionaires out there that are not happy. I don't have a statistic or a survey, but just from my own life experiences and the people I've met along the way. There are more depressed, unhappy people that don't have money, that do have money, okay? Because money is an enabler. It allows you to do things and change your condition. Okay? Whether you're looking for meaning in life, maybe you're looking for spiritual health, right? Well, how are you going to study any kind of spirituality if you can't go and travel or go and take a course? This is just how the world works. Access is gained through money, okay? To access things, you have to spend money. You want to meet interesting people, you want to network. Not easy if you can afford to go to those parties and those mixers and those events. So we have drilled at home, money is going to solve a lot of your problems, if not all. What do we do? How do we make sure we have financial health, financial stability and abundance so that we can solve for all our problems, business and in life? Well, the concept is actually quite simple, but implementation is another story. And what's that concept? You simply have to make it a top priority. Most people in life don't make being wealthy, being financially independent their top priority. Right? They don't think, hey, in the next 10 years of my life, I'm dedicated to this. This is basically the formula of every successful entrepreneur that's wealthy that, you know, they just dedicate their life, a period of time of their life to gaining wealth, gaining financial freedom so they can solve for all their problems. Read the biographies that I mention on this podcast, whether it's Elon Musk or Sarah Blakely or Kevin R. Or whoever it is. The point here is, is that it was a top priority for them. They need to be successful in their field, in their business, so that can make enough money. So money's not a problem anymore. Now, many people in the world, they say, yeah, I want to make money. I want, and I make it a priority. Are two different things. Okay? Most people, their number one priority is fun. I want to have fun as much as possible, and I'm down for enjoying life. But when it's your number one priority instead of maybe priority number three or four, then fun becomes your focus. Okay? They're working for the weekend, they're working for partying, they're working for enjoyment or holidays or whatever it is. But if your number one priority is to make money, so that might be growing your business so you're more and more profitable, so you're putting away more money so it's less and less of a problem for you, Money's not a problem for you. If that's the case, then the thing you need to do to make it a priority is to be your number one to do. Every single day. I'm talking about every day that you go to work, okay, you ask yourself, what am I doing to bring in money? You have to do something every day to make money. Okay, I know that sounds a little bit strange, but that's what it means to make it a priority. That means that your day is not complete unless you've done something to make money. I know this is a very money, money, money episode, but we're trying to solve for this problem. And for many people, if you solve this problem, it unlocks a lot of things. Okay, so what am I doing to bring in more customers every day? Ask my question. What am I doing to make more from each customer? What am I doing to innovate and get more expansion revenue, offer more products and services? And it has to be direct impact, meaning Today I actually ran a webinar. This actually happened. And on the webinar, I made an offer. And by the way, this was a paid webinar. People paid to attend this webinar. And I made an offer on the webinar. And these people on the webinar, most of them were already my customers, but I made an offer for them to. To extend their membership, to renew for another year so I can make more money. Okay? This was the intention. I am trying to make more money. This is the task I took. It has to have direct impact, meaning I did something that brought in dollars immediately or in the near future. Well, a lot of people say, well, you know, I'm going to post on Instagram so that can market my podcast, so then my podcast can grow and people are going to hear my message. And then hopefully go to my website. From my website, they'll go for my opt. For my opt in, they'll go to my webinar for my web. No. These are all many steps that are not directly impacting you making money today. Okay, I know this sounds very, you know, tough love, but this is important. Okay? I'm not saying don't do Instagram because we do Instagram. We post on Instagram every day to promote the $100 MBA show. But I don't consider that my money making task. Okay? That's just something I do in my business and something we have to do to market the podcast. But every day I have a task that's focused on making money. I call up a vendor and negotiate a better rate. I just got more profitable, more money in the pocket, more money in the bank. That's a task that maybe I'll do tomorrow. Every day I'm doing this. And the reason why this is important, because day after day, this piles up and it becomes a momentum, it becomes compounded interest. So whatever is on your to do list every day, figure out a task you could do that can bring in your business money. Okay? You might want to email somebody that you want to partner. You schedule a webinar with them. It's a partner webinar that you're going to promote to each other. You know, on that webinar you're going to make an offer that's a money making activity. In one week, I'll be making offers and I'll be collecting cash from customers. Tomorrow I'm going to write an email campaign where I'm going to do a special offer. And that way I will immediately give them a call to action to buy my products and services. Cash in the bank. You see what I'm saying here? You got to focus on a task every day that can make you money. When you do this consistently for about 40 days, it becomes a habit. And what happens is you start seeing these results, you start wondering, wow, how did I make so much money in the last four days? Well, it's because you did something every day and every day that added to the pile and added to the account. This doesn't happen by accident. You have to prioritize making money, make.

Guys, to wrap up Teddy's lesson, I know that I'm going super, super hard on you with this whole money thing. And the reason Why I did this episode is because I know from personal experience how hard things can be when you don't have money. It's so hard for you to solve problems, money problems and non money problems. Okay. About eight years ago, when I went full time as an entrepreneur, I wasn't even sure how I was going to be able to pay my rent until there was only like a few days left in the month. It was pretty scary. And believe me, in those moments, in those days, I could not focus on anything else because of the pressure that that was giving me. Okay? I couldn't focus on my health. I was in probably in the worst health in my life. Couldn't focus on my happiness. I couldn't focus on building great habits or my hobbies or feeling good or doing something that relaxes me. And in that moment, I realized I need to solve this problem once and for all. And that's when I started to focus on every day trying to make money. And that allowed me to get out of that situation where I don't have to worry about how to put a roof over my head or eat my next me. Now, don't get me wrong, I don't have it all figured out right. I'm not some multi billionaire. I'm still in this practice because I have dedicated the next span of years to doing that, to making sure that money isn't a problem for the business or for my life, that I'm comfortable. This is not easy and it requires sacrifice. And I'm happy to do that knowing it will pay off. Because I've seen already the difference between how life was eight years ago and now. Guys, thank you so much for listening to the $100 MBA show. Of course, having cash in the bank doesn't instantly solve all your problems, but it opens a lot of doors. It allows you to seek help. It gives you options that you normally would not have if you did not have that financial stability. And yes, life will serve you new problems, but in the course of building a business and building wealth, you've built that resilience. You've built that knack for solving problems. And that's why you're valuable as an entrepreneur. Thanks so much for listening and I'll check you in tomorrow's episode Q and A Wednesday. I'll see you then. Take care.
