Before we get into why you should invest in video marketing, I want to first just bust some myths. A lot of people don't get past their preconceived notions of, oh, I don't have the talent, I don't have the equipment, I don't have the expertise to shoot professional video and be a video marketer. The top tiktoker in the world right now is a young man named Khabilame. He shoots most of his videos with his phone. Half of his videos are not even his own content. He's reacting to other videos. He makes jokes about how people overcomplicate things or gimmicks or devices that make no sense. And he's got 97 million fans on TikTok. He makes something between 50 to $80,000 a post and he doesn't say a word on his videos. No script, right? No fancy equipment, no huge pre production budget, nothing. Okay? He just puts out valuable content and that's valuable to build. It's entertaining, it's fun. He found his niche and went all in. But more importantly, he found a growing trend which is video marketing. Video Marketing is B.O. like crazy. Right now all the top social media platforms are investing in video for a reason. Whether it's Instagram, whether it's Facebook doing Facebook lives and Facebook watch LinkedIn. Getting into video, of course, TikTok is all video and it's the number one consumed type of content on people's mobile devices. People consume video more than any other content, more than text, like blog posts, more than audio, like podcasts, more than anything. And I'm here to tell you, don't sit out on the sidelines when something like this is booming the market, a lot of money is going to get pumped in to support it. Whether it's ad dollars, whether it's technology, trying to make sure these videos are found like Search engines. Whether it's software to make it easy to produce this content, the point here is that your work is cut out for you. It's easy now to be successful with video. And whatever you're comfortable with, you're able to do. So you don't have to be a comedian, you don't have to be a talking head, meaning that you have to be on camera and be talking to your audience directly. You can have video marketing working for you without you being involved. In fact, we've been doing this to really scale our video marketing. I can't shoot and be featured in every video that we have for our businesses. So instead of you trying to be the expert, just put your product in front of people. For example, we shoot videos of our software. The different features it does. We basically made a list of 40 different features that wow our customers. We shot little videos showing these features. And our amazing creative content administrator, Cindy, she put these videos together and it's just text and video with some music in the background, conveying information via video, showing people all the amazing features that webinar Ninja offers, how you would use it, why you would use it. A lot of times our business offers a lot of great things that we don't talk about. Let video work for you. Whatever your business is, you can get started this way. You don't actually have to be on video. You can just feature your product. If you have a service, feature the testimonials from your customers, the results you get, that's really your service. And put that in video format. It could kind of have each line reveal itself, maybe even just like a dialogue with your audience. Starting the testimony with a question. For example, looking for a pain free dentist experience? Look no further and then display your testimonial from a customer that's been to your dentist office. Also, repurposing content is a great way to get into video marketing. For example, I run a lot of webinars. Webinars are about an hour, an hour and a half long. But we could take these webinars and now we can splice up some really juicy bits from that webinar. Some of the key takeaways, some of the aha moments, and those become 60 second clips, 30 second clips that we can share on social, that we can share on our website, we can share through email marketing. Now, the reason why I'm encouraging you to do this is because people are willing to watch videos. Videos are very, very easy to watch for people. So if you want people to consume your content and want to Consume your information and learn more about your business and your brand and what you offer. Give them what they're happy to consume. Give them something that it's easy for them to consume, which is video. Do you send an email newsletter every week or every month? Awesome. Create a video version of that newsletter. Almost like somebody giving the news. Right? Like a newscaster. And spread that as well. Maybe people don't want to read the newsletter, but they want to watch the newsletter. So now you know it's doable. Now you have a lot of different ways to get started. But let's get into why. Why should you do this? Well, we already mentioned that people are consuming video more than ever because it's what they prefer. It's the prefer method of consuming content. But video is a triple threat when it comes to search. A lot of people don't know this, but video now is searchable, meaning that if you upload a video on YouTube, for example, YouTube actually automatically transcribes it in their database. They know all the words you mention on the video you actually say on the mic, and they index those words in their search engine. So when people search words that you said on a video, your video shows up. Now I said triple threat. So it's great for search on keywords. People also search videos on search engines and YouTube. That's the second thread. The third thread is voice video. And the information and videos are now available via voice, meaning home speakers like Alexa, Google, Siri. So if you talk about a topic and you index your actual video, it can get picked up by these search engines, even via voice. See what I mean by how technology is getting built around video to push this trend? Now you might feel like, man, I'm overwhelmed. This sounds great. Where do I get started? What do I do? Do I have to be a YouTube star tomorrow? Do I have to take over TikTok? No. Choose a medium if you like YouTube. If you are a consumer of YouTube, go ahead and start with YouTube. If you like TikTok, start with TikTok. If you like Instagram, do short videos on Instagram. A lot of people will advise you, hey, just shoot one video and spread it all over the place. Put it on YouTube, put it on Instagram, put it on TikTok. You can do that, but you'd actually have more concentrated results if you focus on one platform, cater to that audience on that platform, built a video for that content and for that platform. For example, TikTok is really vertical videos, portrait videos, while YouTube is more horizontal videos or landscaped style. Videos. So just get started with that. Spend three months producing a piece of content for your YouTube channel. For example, once a week minimum, create a cadence of that. Whether you're on the video or not on the video, that's up to you. But just create consistent content. Don't worry about it being perfect from the get go. It won't be perfect, but you gotta get out of your system. I could barely listen to the first 100 episodes of the $100 NBA show, but 1800 plus episodes later, I know that those past episodes are cringeworthy because I've put in the work to improve.
You've made it on time for the McDonald's breakfast menu. You think to yourself, finally, I could start my day with my perfect breakfast. But what if breakfast could be even more perfect with the hot honey sausage egg biscuit? It finally is. This won't last forever, so go to McDonald's and get it while you can. Ba da ba ba ba.
To wrap up today's lesson, get into video marketing. I'm going to give you two options to get started. That is very, very easy. Number one is the vlog option where you literally just turn on your camera and you vlog. It's like journaling, but on camera. What are you going to be working on today? What are your goals today? What are your fears? What are your thoughts? Share it with. You might not think it's important. Just think of it as a way of you journaling in public. The second option is what's called reaction videos. A lot of people need content so they can react to or create content for. These are becoming very, very popular in comedy. But a lot of people do it for business, too. They do it for different markets. For example, they might go ahead and look at a product on Amazon and say, hey, this is why this is a great product. Let me tell you why and react to it. This could be the same with books or book reviews or movie reviews. Some people just need a trigger to start the conversation with their audience. That wraps up today's lesson. I hope you enjoyed it. I hope this motivates you and inspires you to start with video marketing. Today's episode's not over though, because it's Free Ride Friday. Let's see who won this week's Free Ride. And the winner is. Jose Diaz. Jose Diaz says, I love episode 1681. 5 stars. I just listened to episode 1681 and loved every minute of it.
