Listen in on Friday to see if you won. It's that so our way to say thanks for showing us love on Apple Podcasts. Today's lesson is part two of our two part lesson on how to create a video lead magnet that converts yesterday. In part one we covered how to actually create the content, the video itself. Today we're going to be covering the pages that you need to create on your website for this video lead magnet and the email sequences that go with them. We're going to cover step by step how to create these things, what tools to use, and what are some things you should avoid. So let's get into it. Let's get down to business.
When the flu is keeping you up at night, don't try to tough it out. Knock out your flu symptoms with nyquil Intense flu. You got this. It provides powerful relief of your flu symptoms so you can sleep well through the night. Nyquil Intense Flu. The nighttime sniffling, aching, aching fever. Best sleep with a flu medicine. Use as directed. Keep out of reach of children.
So in today's lesson, we're going to cover how to create the pages for your video lead magnet and the email sequences that go with so we can turn those leads into customers. Let's get into the pages. Number one, the two pages you're going to create are the actual page where they sign up. This is called the opt in page. And the page where the actual video content that they sign up for lives. This is where you're gonna embed your video that has the lesson that we talked about yesterday and maybe include a few other goodies to get them to be interested in becoming customers. The first page, the opt in page where they sign up. My opinion is it should be a short, concise, to the point page. Okay. A lot of people call these squeeze pages because it doesn't allow you to do anything other than sign up. So I don't like even putting my menu, my header for my website up top. I just put a logo there. I do put my basic footer that has my terms and conditions, my copyright. But the point here is that minimal scrolling and I just say exactly, hey, this is what's in it for you. This is where I embed the second video I talked about yesterday that entices them to sign up and tells them what's in it for them. I couple that with a strong punchy headline and a bit of text explaining the value of what they're signing up for. Below it, I put my opt in box asking for their name and email. And that's pretty much it. If you want to see an example of what I created, go to webinarninja.comsellyourcourse. the point here is to keep it clean, keep it simple and on brand. You don't want to make it difficult for them to make a decision to give their name and email address. You want to make it clear that this is a no brainer. So really flex what is valuable about the content you're sharing. For me, I teach in 15 minutes how to sell your online course in a system I call the online course sales machine. If you are a course creator, one of your pain points is that, hey, I want to sell my course, get more students. And many people think this is convoluted system. The main selling point for my page is that in 15 minutes you'll have a plan of action. It's the brevity. So I highlight that on the page. The second page I create is the actual page where the video exists. So once I sign up, I have the page go directly to the second page where I have the actual video content which is front and center. I like to have a big video because that's what they're really here for. And I supplement that with a call to action. What I want them to do next after watching the video. In my case, it's signing up for a free trial so they can sell their online course with our software within our ninja. Again, if you want to see this page, just sign up for my opt in. It's absolutely free just to walk through the paces and see all these steps. Over at weaven asia.com sell your course. We also include a worksheet. I like the idea of a worksheet to go along with a 15 minute lesson because they can print it out, they can annotate it on their screen. The point here is that they're engaged, they're actually creating something and they actually can take action. Why do I do this? Because I actually want them to take action. Because if they take action, they're going to get results and if they get results, they'll get a win and they will become a customer. This is why I kind of encourage that kind of action. Now you might be asking Omar, how do I create these pages? Well, if you have a designer on hand, awesome. If you don't, you can do what I do. I create them myself using a tool to build landing pages. The two tools I recommend you can use either. One is Thrive Builder. This is a WordPress plugin and another WordPress plugin is Elementor. Both of these work great and they have really good templates for landing pages that you can customize. My suggestion is choose a template, change the colors to match your branding colors, change the logo and go with it. You know what you need on the page. For the opt in page you need a video and you need some text and an opt in. So pick a template that has those Elements and roll with it. For the other page where the actual content lives. You need a main video area and another section for a call to action below. Very simple. So just try to look for templates that have the elements that you need. Now, if you're not on WordPress, no problem. Whatever website builder you're on must have templates or landing pages that you could choose. Just choose the pages or the templates that have the elements that you need. Now, once they sign up, they're going to be on your email list. This is where you nurture this audience member and you give them the next steps. This is an email sequence. We use ConvertKit for our email marketing provider. We really love it. Simple. It's exactly what you need. Nothing you don't. It's not complicated and it's also not expensive. But if you want a totally free one, it's going to be hard to find one that has automations. Even Mailchimp doesn't have automations. Neither does ConvertKit's free plan. So it's okay to pay a little bit of money to get a lot because this is automatically going to go out to your customers, your potential customers, I should say. And you don't need to worry about sending individual emails. So what I like to do is I like to create a sequence of four emails. And this is an automation that I create in ConvertKit that basically will send these emails automatically once they sign up. So they get one email that's immediate after they sign up that says, hey, thanks for signing up. Here is how you can access the video that I promised them. You know, that, that lesson, I actually give them the page just in case they forget where that page is, they can always go back to it by email. I also tell them, hey, to get the most out of this content, go ahead and do this. And this is the call to action, the next step I want them to take so they can implement what they learn. The second email will go out about two days after and I have this automatically send with my automation. That second email is just asking, how was that video? How was that training? Was it helpful? Reply and let me know, are you ready to take the next step Again, reminder, call to action. Third email, I remind them of the value of the video, the training in the video you learned xyz. Now, to get the most out of xyz, you actually have to do the work. So let's take that next step. Let's take that call to action. Sign up. Call to action. Okay, that third email goes out three days after the second email, the fourth email is my last email and it goes out four days after the third email and it's again a reminder, we're here for you, so reply if you need any help. I also give them a different call to action, like sign up for my next webinar or check out my latest blog post. And it just kind of nurtures them because I know that they haven't become a customer yet, so I don't want to hit them over the head with the same call to action. Now, emails two to four, I filter in my automation to make sure that, hey, if they're a customer, don't send them the email. So only those reminders go out to customers once they become a customer. They don't need to get those emails. They took action, they've signed up, they've done their job right. And the best way to do this is that once somebody becomes a customer of yours, you tag them with a specific tag. I have a tag called customers and I just say to ConvertKit, hey, don't send this email to anybody with this tag. And it makes sure that they don't get unnecessary emails. It's kind of annoying when you get an email that says, hey, sign up for my product. They're like, I already signed up. So those are my automations. I recommend ConvertKit to create them and it's a fantastic system because it's all automatic. You can just then send people to your landing page and they get all the sequences.
We've all been there. You hold onto a coupon, hoping to cash it in at the store, but then you forget about it and suddenly you've got a mountain of useless expired coupons.
Do you think this one's still good?
Free milk.
Oh, mate, that expired in 1993.
Dang it.
Fortunately, there are better ways to save money. Like by switching to Geico, you could save about $900 on car insurance without ever touching a coupon.
Ooh, how about this one? Half off floppy disks.
Now you should try a bit of spring cleaning.
It feels good to save big.
It feels good to Geico. Before we wrap up today's lesson, I want to give a few tips. Number one, when it comes to creating those pages on your website, do not spend too much time fiddling on these pages. You can probably spend days fiddling, so I encourage you to keep it short, keep it tight and even. Put a time limit on yourself. I do this all the time. I say to myself, I'm only going to spend 90 minutes on each page. That's it. Sometimes I spend less time, but at least I give myself a maximum. Next. Sometimes you have to recognize maybe you're not the best person for each part of this system. For example, you might want to get a copywriter to write your emails for your email sequences. Just tell them what you want to accomplish and what you want to cover in each email and they can write it up for you. They can just share a Google Doc. That's what we do in my team. Connor, our content writer writes up the emails. I then plug them into ConvertKit. Sometimes he even does it in ConvertKit. So don't feel like you have to do everything. Use your team or outsource to be a little bit more efficient. This lowers your overwhelm and lowers the chance of you not getting it done because hey, you got other people counting on you to see the end result. Or well, that wraps up Teddy's lesson and our two part series on how to create a video lead magnet that converts. I wanted to share with you everything we do so that you don't have to reinvent the wheel and you can just go ahead and implement with your idea with your business. Today's Free Ride Friday. So let's go ahead and see who won this week's free ride. And the winner is. Some guy named Dean. That's his handle on Apple podcasts. Some guy named Dean says just discover the $100 NBA show. Five stars. Great short bits of useful content. Perfect way to start the day. Just listen to the video marketing episode, which is a different episode. Guys, your content is concise, short and to the point, not filled with random chatting like many others do to fill in time. Looking forward to immersing myself in the rest of your content. Well thanks a lot some guy named Dean. That was a wonderful review and you are a Freeride Friday winner. Your mission is to email me over at Omar100 so we can hook you up with the lifetime membership to Easy course over at easycourse. Co. If you want to win a free ride, just leave us an Apple podcast rating and review and you enter our weekly random draw. It's that easy. And then just listen in on Friday like today to see if you won. Before I go though, I want to leave you with this. These video lead magnets are not just a way to collect leads. It's a way for you to build trust with your audience if you can deliver on your content. If they really feel like, wow, this person really has helped me and opened up my mind to some options or gave me some strategies that really work. I want to continue that relationship. I want more from this person. I want this person to solve more problems for me. And that's how it works. You build that trust, you build that rapport. They begin to really just believe, hey, this person is the real deal. Thanks so much for listening and I'll check you in Monday's episode. Have a good one. Until then, take care.
