Omar Zenhom explains why creators are shifting to live video. It cuts production time, lets you repurpose one stream into multiple pieces of content, and builds real interaction with your audience. Live video also stays relevant longer and forces you to get better at communicating on the fly.

There are many, many reasons why many creators are doing live video now. But I'm going to share with you my favorites and the most impactful reasons why you should do it. Let me start with reason number one, and that's production time versus Final product. What do I mean by that? Well, the best way to illustrate this is actually a tweet that was tweeted out by Neville Medoro on my favorite copywriters. In this tweet he talks about how it takes about 12 months to shoot and film and edit and create a movie that ends up being two hours. So it takes 12 months to make a two hour movie. It takes about a hundred hours to create a great three minute song. It takes about two hours to produce maybe a one hour podcast. But for live video it only takes one hour to produce one hour of live video. Now that might not be exactly true. There is some pre production with live video and some preparation, but the sentiment is true. The reason why live video has become so popular is because people can just jump on the camera, give their value, give their knowledge and just be done with it. No editing, no uploading, no production, no distribution. It's over. This is why you see a lot of creators go on Instagram, do live videos, on Twitter, run ask me anything webinars. Because all they gotta do is show up, hit, start, broadcast and give great value for the most part. Now obviously if you have a very detailed workshop that you're gonna prepare, that might take you some time to prepare beforehand. But guess what? You can run that workshop over and over once you've created it once. And the time commitment is just you shooting it live. So the actual results, the actual ROI you get from live video is tremendous based on how much time you put into it. Another big impactful reason why creators are doing live video is the concept of repurposing. Let's say for example, you do a one hour ask me anything webinar. You put in an hour to produce this webinar. You help people out, you answer their questions, you give some life coaching. It was value packed. Now that You've produced that live hour, it gets recorded, and now you can take that video and repurpose that content in so many ways. You can basically take one hour of work and create so many pieces of content. You can turn that video into an audio conversation and make it a part of your podcast. You can cut up snippets of that video into smaller videos and use it in your social media to give small nuggets of value. You can transcribe the video and use some of the content and the tips that you share in your tweets as a blog post. You can even extract compliments and feedback you get on that webinar as testimonials. You can take screenshots of that video and use it on Instagram and use it in your marketing. You get the point. There's so many ways to repurpose that one hour of live video. Another big, big reason creators love live video is that it's interactive. Your audience wants to interact with you, wants to get to know you a little bit, and it's a pleasure for them to be on a live call with you on a live video, on a webinar, on a Twitter, live, on a whatever, because they can ask questions, they can comment on your content, they can ask you to elaborate on a topic that you're discussing. This creates engagement and therefore creates more virality to your content. This is not one way content where you're just talking with a recorded video. This is you talking back and forth with your audience. They're commenting, they're writing. This creates a lot of buzz on social media and feeds the algorithms. And guess what? This helps you as the creator to improve your content and know what actually resonates with your audience based on their feedback. So you can do more of that in the future. Another big reason why creators love live video is that it becomes evergreen. They shoot it live and the recording is there for them to use later. On many platforms like Instagram Live and Twitter and webinar softwares like Shameless Plug ours, Webinar Ninja creates a recording of the actual video automatically and offers it to the audience. For those who missed it or were late, they can watch it at any time. And all the comments and discussions and the polls and the offers and all that other stuff that you maybe have posted along with your video is also displayed with the recorded video. So again, evergreen content. And it begs the question, why do recorded videos in the first place? Why don't you just do it live, since it's getting recorded anyway, get the benefit of the live and the interaction and then it becomes a recorded video. Anyway, now I want to give you a few reasons why I particularly think live video is a great tool for you as a creator, as a business owner, as an entrepreneur. Live video helps you improve your communication skills. This is why I think one of the best ways to get started with live video is just use some of the social platform tools like Instagram, like Twitter, and just do a live video once a week, sharing what you learned that week, sharing what you worked on. This is more like documenting and sharing rather than producing. The point here, here is not to create earth shattering valuable content that you're going to sell one day. No, the point here is that for you to get comfortable on live video and be comfortable with communicating with your audience live. If you do this a few times, you're going to start feeling more and more comfortable, you're going to start enjoying this. And guess what? People are going to start saying, hey, you're a natural on video. I get this all the time. And I say to them, not really because I had to put a lot of work into it to get to where I am today. But you're never going to feel comfortable if you never get started. So I'm going to give you some homework. You've probably done something this week to improve yourself, to learn something new, to become a better entrepreneur, to work on your business, to work on your side. Hustle, maybe some notes, some thoughts, share that build in public. Like they say in a live video, it doesn't need to be super long. It could be 2, 3, 4, 5, 10 minutes. And just get used to looking into that camera and sharing value with your audience. Now you might think, hey, this is not really that earth shattering. It's not that great. Who wants to hear from me? This is kind of boring. Listen, no matter how beginner you are, there are people that are still not at your level, are a few steps behind you. And by hearing from you and hearing what you're doing, it's inspiring. It helps them know where to get started. It helps them know some of the things that they should be thinking about or doing. For somebody who has never even thought about starting a business or building a project or creating anything for themselves, you sharing your journey as you create your first thing even is valuable content to that person. In fact, it's more valuable to hear from somebody who's just a few steps ahead than somebody who is miles ahead, a super duper guru expert that's just so hard to relate to because they are way ahead of them. So feel free to share your journey and do it with live video. The more comfortable you get on live video, done it maybe five, six, seven times, you're going to be ready to do something a little bit longer like a live workshop, like an Ask Me Anything webinar. This is when things get really exciting because you're really connecting and building a strong bond with your audience for a long period of time.
