Hey, what's up? It's Chris ducker here from chrisducker.com and it is an utter pleasure to be back here on the $100 NBA show podcast. So today I'm going To be helping you on this quick coaching call to understand a little bit more about what I call my starting five monetization strategies for anybody building a personal brand business, or as I like to refer to them as, youpreneurs. So what's a youpreneur? A youpreneur is anybody building a business based around themselves, their brand, their expertise, their personality, what they stand for, but more importantly, the people that they want to serve. So think about what you want to be known for. Think about what you're maybe already known for. That's your personal brand. And now we're going to talk about how we can ultimately monetize that personal brand with the starting five. So number one is coaching and consulting. This is by far the lowest hanging monetization fruit there is for a personal brand entrepreneur out there. Understand there are people that will be happy to part with their hard earned cash to delve into your experience, to pick your brain for any period of time, whether it be an hour or a day, or a week or a month or whatever it is. There are people that would be happy to pay to be able to gain all that experience that you've been able to collect through your career, no matter how long or short it might be. The easy way to think about coaching people is just to come up with one big problem that you know your people, your tribe will be going through on a regular basis and simply solve that problem. If you do it well enough, you get the opportunity to put a price tag on it and everybody's happy. So that's the first thing. Coaching and consulting. Grab that low hanging fruit and let's monetize. Number two is affiliate marketing. Now a lot of you savvy listeners out there will know exactly what that means, but maybe for those that could still be getting started, it's as simple as providing a link of some variety on a website or in an email or via social media for one of your viewers, readers, listeners, whatever the case may be, to click on. If they buy whatever product or service that link leads to, you end up making a commission, they get the product or service that they need and everyone is happy. This is great because it's a short term goal as well as a long term goal when it comes to your monetization. So that's number two is affiliate marketing. The third way that you can monetize your personal brand is by developing online courses. Here's the thing, if you can't stand behind your own product with huge amounts of pride, the then don't even create it. Let alone market and promote it. But I bet you if you were to sit down with a piece of paper and a pen, you'd clearly be able to come up with least one idea for a really good course that you could help your customers get through. Regardless of what industry or market you're in, you could easily come up with four or five modules broken up into two or three training videos or audio downloads, or workbooks or work worksheets or whatever the case may be. Find out where there is a gap in the market when it comes to serving people that you want to serve and sell to, and then simply create an online course to fill that gap. Now, the fourth way that you can go ahead and monetize your expertise and your personal brand is by creating a membership site of some variety. Now, this isn't necessarily something that you want to do right out of the gate. You probably won't be ready to do it right, right out of the gate. However, further down the line, when you created a nice community around you, people following you, they like what you're all about, they like your vibe, they want to be part of your tribe. That's when you can fundamentally monetize this. Now this, the beautiful thing about this particular monetization strategy is that it's recurring and more importantly, it is predictable income. And in any business, in any industry, you've got to be looking at having predictable and recurring income as part of your own ecosystem. Now, you can't set and forget a membership business, all right? You've got to show up all the time. And I'll tell you right now, you shouldn't even consider starting a membership unless you're genuinely ready to show up routinely for the people who become part of it. But as somebody who owns a membership side of his business myself, I can tell you it's by far one of the most rewarding things that I do to be able to sign into our private forums and see people taking action and hitting their goals. So that's the fourth thing that you can do to monetize your personal brand is to come up and launch a fantastic membership community. And the fifth one, and this is actually one of my favorite ways to monetize my expertise, is to seriously look at and consider holding a live event of some variety. Now, what I like to call my upon ear ecosystem, which, which is a collection of all the different things that I do to monetize my personal brand and my expertise, live events are very solidly in the middle of that for me at this moment in time. It hasn't always been that way, but I'm almost 100% sure that it will be going forward. And the reason why is because I love holding live events. I love bringing people together in person. You might not necessarily make a whole bunch of money on the ticket sales that themselves, but let me tell you something. The loyalty that it creates in your community for people that show up in person over and over and over again is absolutely huge. And that lifetime customer value will grow over time as well. Although they might not spend all that much to be at the event or even spend that much money at the event itself, the fact is that they will still be part of your community. They will still buy your courses, your books, your coaching, and anything else that you throw at them that can ultimately bring a little calm to whatever storm they might be sitting in themselves. So there you have it. Those are the starting five when it comes to monetizing your personal brand. And I should say something right now. As somebody who has built and grown and still operates many of the offline or brick and mortar businesses, one thing I discovered very, very quickly was that people do business with me way before they do business with any of my companies. And it's that self awareness that I've attached to myself as an entrepreneur in regards to the power of my personal brand that has enabled lots of doors of opportunity to come my way and an amazing amount of fun and a accomplishment felt from my end. There's nothing better than being at the very center of what I do as an entrepreneur. That's what a Youpreneur does and that's what you can do if you decide to focus in on building your personal brand business. It's been great to hang out with you today a little bit and if you're interested in maybe finding out more on how you can become the go to leader in your industry and build a future proof business, I would love for you to check out and pick up a copy of my new book entitled Rise of the Youpreneur.
