Welcome to the $100 MBA show, the business podcast that leaves you satisfied with our daily 10 minute business lessons for the real world. I'm your host, your coach, your teacher, Omar Zenholm. I'm also the co founder of the Hundred Dollar MBA, a complete business training and community online over at 100mba.net and in today's lesson you will learn four sales page hacks to increase conversions. I'm going to share with you four things you can do right now to your sales pages to increase conversions. That means more money. How could he say no to that? No, but seriously when it comes to your sales pages, you got to constantly be testing and tweaking. Too many people focus on traffic and not enough on conversion. People would die to double their traffic. But it's a lot easier to just double your conversions. You're going to make just as many sales than if you had that incredible boost of traffic all the time. And sometimes it's the little things we neglect that make the big difference. These are four hacks I've tried myself with our own sales pages, and they really work. Can't wait to share them with you. So let's get into it. Let's get down to business. All right, I got four sales page hacks I got to share with you. This is really going to help you increase conversions. Just implement these as soon as possible. You're going to see some major results. I know this from experience. They might seem simple, but sometimes the simplest things make the biggest difference. Like I mentioned before. All right, let's start with hack number one. And this is one that people neglect all the time. And that hack is to move your content up. When it comes to website real estate, especially sales pages, everything before the fold is prime real estate. Now, when I say before the fold, that means before you have to scroll. So if I open up your website on my laptop and we pretend I can't scroll, like my scroll button doesn't work, whatever I see is what I get. This is the most important piece of real estate on your whole website. Your homepage, your sales page, anything I can see before I start scrolling. Why? Because people usually make the decision to stay on the site, whether it's to keep scrolling or check out other pages, depending on what they see before the fold on the sales page or homepage. So this is why hack number one is to move content up. If you have an unnecessary banner or, you know, wide image, or you just have too much spacing up top, cut that all out. Cut the banner out. Just have whatever you're going to get started with, whether it's a headline or a video, right at the top, right after your navigation banner. And if you don't have a navigation banner for your sales page, do not worry about it. That allows you even more room to move up. The more I'm allowed to add value and communicate before the fold, the better. That's why moving content up is so important. I've seen so many sales pages and websites completely neglect their real estate. Open up your website, your sales page right now and see if you can move your content up. If you can cut out Any extra space up top. Or if you have a banner that's really not necessary or some sort of wide image that really can be moved somewhere else. Get to the meat. Get to the juice. Like your opening headline or your video or whatever it is on your sales page right at the top. And that leads me to hack number two, simplifying your headline and sub headline. Personally, I love sales pages with strong headlines and sub headlines at the start. I feel like if a website has a strong headline and sub headline, I'm hooked. I want to invest more time. I want to, you know, watch the video or check out the images below. I'll keep scrolling. I'll check out the other pages. I like to start all my sales pages with a simple headline and sub headline. So take a look at your headline. Simplify it if want to you if it's too wordy, if it's not really direct. If you show your grandmother who uses a rotary phone your headline and sub headline, will she get what you do? Simplify the language. If you're going to be exposing the pain point in the headline with a question, make the question simple. Is your hyperactive cat driving you crazy? Super simple. The cat's hyperactive. It's driving you crazy. Revisit your headline and sub headline. Make sure that you're exposing the pain point simply as well as showing your solution with your major benefit in one succinct sentence. All right, hack number three, adding a buy button in every fold. So whether you have a checkout button, a buy button, whatever the call to action is on your sales page, make sure you have a button for it in every fold. What I mean by that is I remember we talked about before the fold where when I open up your website before I scroll, I should have a way to be able to buy your product. The first, the button can be in the header. It could be below my headline or below the video. The point is, is that I don't need to scroll to take action. Now. What if I keep scrolling? Now let's scroll past that buy button and now I'm deeper into the page. You gotta make sure that they have a way to buy at every point in your page. And if I keep scrolling beyond that, another button. You get the point. Now you can spread out some buttons across the page as you scroll down. But another way to do it is to have a buy button in the navigation bar and, and have your navigation bar be sticky. Basically, it stays up top even though I keep scrolling. Now you can get your website developer to do that. For you or if you're using WordPress, there are plenty of plugins that will allow you to do that. Just search plugins for sticky navigation. The point here is, is that they gotta be able to check out Take action at any point during the sales page. If they have to search for the button and find out, hey, where do I buy? That's a problem. You're going to lower convergence. People are going to leave your site because they're going to be like, hey, I wanted to buy, or I thought about buying and it wasn't simple. Make it simple for them to be able to take action.
Oh, could this vintage store be any cuter?
Right?
And the best part, they accept Discover. Except Discover in a little place like this? I don't think so, Jennifer. Oh, yeah, huh? Discover is accepted where I like to shop. Come on, baby, get with the times.

All right, my fourth hack. When it comes to improving conversions on your sales pages, you got to use the before and after technique in your sales pages. The most common and really effective use of this technique is in weight loss programs or fitness programs. They show you what people looked like before the program and then after. Why do they do that? Because they want the people that are on the website to identify with the before. Hey, this is you right now, but this can be you in the future and I can help you get there. You can do this with any product or service. How is life right now? And this usually exacerbates the pain or the problem that that your product solves. And then show them how life will be with your product. How do things improve? You can literally do this with pictures. You can literally do this with sales copy. Are you having trouble with X, Y and Z? Are you frustrated with this? Are you frustrated with that? Well, people that use a product or service have found that we do this for them. This is life with our product. If you Want to see an example of this? That's not a weight loss program. Check out Basecamp's website, basecamp.com they do a great job of implementing the before and after technique. This really communicates to the person that's on your page the real value of your product. They can really imagine life with your product with a before and after example. And you can go through all your features with that before and after technique. This is what life was before. Now after you get the point. Well, there you have it. Those are my four hacks when it comes to increasing sales conversions right now on your sales page. Number one, move your content up top. Number two, simplify your headline and sub headline. Number three, add a by button on every fold so they can be able to take action at any point on the sales page. Number four, the before and after technique.
