In this product demo, the presenter walks through Jellyfish’s data‑driven engineering benchmarks available in the Measurements workspace of the Jellyfish engineering management platform. The demo highlights that benchmarks exist for nearly every tracked metric and shows how users can view percentile performance visualizations. Selecting a metric reveals a supplementary bar‑chart card that lets teams compare their performance against internal and external medians as well as industry averages. The presenter explains the distinction between internal median (derived from the organization’s own data) and external median (derived from Jellyfish’s broader customer base). A dropdown provides industry‑wide contextual insights at the organization, division, group, and team levels. The core “Allocation” metric is also benchmarked, allowing teams to see how they allocate resources across work categories such as Growth, Infrastructure, and Support compared with peers. Today we're going to take a look at Jellyfish's data-driven engineering benchmarks. Jellyfish benchmarks can be found in the measurements workspace of our engineering management platform. Benchmarks are available for almost every metric tracked within Jellyfish. With a cursory glance, you can see percentile performance for each metric using their visualizations here. Selecting a given metric opens up a supplementary bar chart card, which lets you evaluate teams from across the organization and see how they perform compared to averages across the wider industry. Jellyfish also calls out the median metric performance. There's a card for internal median, powered exclusively by your organization's data, as well as the external median. This is driven by Jellyfish's industry-leading customer base who are also utilizing benchmarking. Using the dropdown, you can access industry-wide contextual insights on the organization, division, group, and team level. Jellyfish's core measurement, Allocation, will also have benchmarking available, so you can see how your team allocates engineering resources towards different work categories like Growth, Infrastructure, Support, and more, and compare that to your industry peers.
