So let's start. I've got these 9 brain break strategies to win the battle over emotional exhaustion. Breathe. Okay, number 1: relax the body. So relaxing the body, this is so good and so important. There's been studies done with showers. When you take a shower, do you ever get those creative ideas when you're in the shower? You're taking a shower and all of a sudden you go like, Yeah, oh wow, I could do this. Brains have been scientifically proven— those showers have been scientifically proven to relax. And as your body has that body sensory, it shuts down the brain in some ways. It just relaxes the brain. The same thing happens with walks. When you're walking, a lot of times you get creative ideas when you walk. Because your brain is so stimulated with the routine part of walking that your brain relaxes into it, and then it creates, it gives it that ability to be creative. There was a Harvard Business Review article, February 2nd, 2021, and it says, "Don't underestimate the power of a walk." And I just wanna read to you some of the things that came out of this study, which is great. People who walked performed better on tests of memory and attention. Their brain cells build new connections. They generate new ideas. They improve sleep, thinking, and learning while reducing anxiety. It's a creativity booster. And if you walk outside, which is actually an extra benefit, it improves your self-esteem and mood in 5 minutes. Ooh, okay. And you switch from— and the whole mechanism of this— you switch from a voluntary attention to an involuntary attention, like walking, requiring less focus and energy. And then the biggest result from this, given today's topic, you recover from fatigue. So there's been great thinkers that walk. People like Nietzsche and William Wordsworth and Aristotle were all big walkers. These are great thinkers too. So I'd like you to put in the chat, what is your brain break for relaxing your body? Do you do yoga? Do you meditate? What is it that you do to go and relax into that moment and everything tends to go away? What do you do to relax?
