From Mission to Action: How to Create Goals That Align with Your Life's Purpose - Wisdom4Humanity

What are 5 significant goals? I'll give you 2 minutes to do this. What are your 5 significant goals to achieve your life mission for this year? Just for this year, you know, pack it into this year. 5 goals. And one of the goals must be audacious. One should be uncomfortable. One should be that you look at it and go like, holy crap, am I gonna have to say that one out loud? Oh no, this is bigger than me. Yes, good. Your goals should be bigger than you because you need help to do those big things. You need help with your life mission, so your goals should reflect that as well. Okay, got some good ones there, some nods. Okay, so let me give you some, uh, what I do to support these. So first of all, I write objectives— I write goals in objective form, meaning I start them with an active verb, a verb that activates. Build this, develop that, draft this, launch that. Okay? So there are things that like, oh, there's movement in that. Remember folks, I'm a behaviorist, not a psychology person. So it's not what you know or understand, it's what you do. So it should begin with a verb that activates. And then in it, there should be a noun that matters, or a noun that has mattered, but noun that matters, something that moves because you use that verb with it. I'll give you an example here in a second. And then it should have adjectives or descriptors that accelerate it. Okay? So let me give you my audacious goal for the year. My audacious goal for the year. Is develop a way to assess the impact of investment for immersive learning experiences. Develop a way to assess impact of investment for immersive learning experiences. Okay, develop. So there's a thing. The noun that matters is an assessment of impact of investment. So that's a measurement. I'm gonna create a measurement this year. And then, an accelerator. And, and it's also for an immersive learning experience. So I'm looking at this thing as like, wow. And so I could add an adjective in there that says assess an innovative or world-class, something like that. Okay. Does this make sense for folks to break it down into these pieces and parts? And if you look at my world, why, why do I want to do that? Well, first of all, I want to look at the impact of investment, but I want to be specific around immersive learning experiences. Why? Because Wisdom Council is my core offering. And wouldn't it be cool if I could somehow measure the impact of that investment in 10 years, 20 years. And so, Amber, if you came to Wisdom Council in 15 years, you'd go like, oh, this is how Istanbul Wisdom Council impacted my life. Here's the trajectory that changed. Here's the thing, the decisions I made along the way that I can draw directly to that. And here's what's different now. I can measure the investment, the impact of that investment.
