All right, so requirement number 3. Ready for this one?
Mhm.
This is a tough one. Okay, um, requirement 3 is that the shift has to feel ambitiously possible. The shift has to feel ambitiously possible. I want to— I'm working for world peace. Um, can you give me a smaller bite to chew, please? Not sure I'm gonna do that, right? And so, so you've got that. It's like, so it's got to be ambitiously possible. Not just possible, but ambitiously possible. It's got to be big enough, um, that you say, hey, this is possible, a story. So we were in the Scottish Highlands at a 25,000-acre wilderness reserve for our Wisdom Council last— this past June. And one of the things that the ranger did with us, drove us out on this road, and he came to a kind of a crest on the road. And we all got out and he said, look to your left. We looked down this beautiful Scottish Highlands valley that was beautifully wooded with all these nice pine trees. It's just gorgeous. And he said, over the last 30 years, we've planted a million trees. A million trees. Wow. Yeah.
I'm like, wow.
He said, now look to your right. You see the beautiful Scottish Highlands, the plains that we have there? There's no trees, but it's beautiful.
Mm-hmm.
That's my next 30-year plan. We're going to plant a million trees. This ranger has a 60-year plan of planting 2 million trees. Wow.
Okay, that's clear.
Yeah, ambitiously possible. Mm-hmm. But, um, but boy, what a stretch, right? What a stretch.
So, um, especially when you can visually see the impact there. Yeah, yes.
Yeah, I mean, you can see it, but you know, how did you start? And by the way, um, uh, you start by planting a tree. And out there, what happened with that is that they had deer, so that— so, so they grew up kind of slow. But you know what? Deer love eating the bark off of saplings. So they went out there, planted a bunch of—
delicious—
deer ate them all. For like, there's a whole year's worth gone because the deer ate it. And then they had to go like, oh, we need to— on this 25-day 1,000 acres, we have to herd the deer herd into different areas so they don't touch the growing saplings. So now they have to put up fencing. Ever tried to put up fencing on a 25,000-acre forest?
Yeah, they are like, yeah, yeah.
It's like, so, so they're putting up all these, you know, so it's just like, oh my gosh. But this is what you do. Ambitiously possible. I love that. I love that. Wow. Uh, when I think about Wisdom Council, um, Wisdom Council started in about 1998 when I was at a, um, a pub outside of Newcastle, England.
Oh, I didn't know that. Okay.
And, uh, sorry, there was a partner who was really old, like he was like 48 years old. And back in those days, it really was kind of a forced retirement at 50.
Yeah.
And so, so he, he said, you know, we started asking, what are you going to do when you retire? And he's like, I want to go to every major party on the planet. Like, oh, interesting. And he had been to Oktoberfest in Munich. He'd been to Carnival in Rio, and he had them all lined up, ready to go. All these things lined up, ready to go. I was like, wow, that's really cool, and impressed me. He retired at 50 and he died at 52. Ah, and one of the things, as you know, you know, following the Lakota as I do, the Lakota, um, when somebody passes away in order to respect and honor their legacy, you take on a behavior of theirs, you take on something of theirs. And so when he passed away, I decided to take on his legacy. And his legacy— I didn't want to go to every major party on the planet, but I changed it. I wanted to go to a sacred place on the planet every year. Just like him. And that was back before the turn of the century. In 2018, we went to Machu Picchu for the first time. So already that's a 10-year plan. We went to Machu Picchu, but, but then we decided to do it again. So, uh, we did it again and again. We've been on 5 Wisdom Councils now. That is in making something that's ambitiously possible. I mean, think about it. Um, you know, what I did was, uh, in, in January of one year, I took people to Machu Picchu in September. I'd never been to Machu Picchu. I'd never done an event before like that. And here I am taking a bunch of people. What, what a stretch ambition. But your your mission you should have out there that something's ambitiously possible.
