What does resilience mean? - Wisdom4Humanity with Patrick Mosher

The topic we're going to cover is resilience, and I want to tell you a little story about this picture. So here we are, you know, we were out in the prairie in Saskatchewan, and we were building a legacy labyrinth. And you can see the size of these rocks. This rock was probably about that size, and I moved that rock, actually picked that up and moved it. But if you look at this rock, you know, it's just like looking at rocks, putting, putting it in place, and I came over here and here was, amongst all these boulders sitting there in this grass, little flowers popped up overnight. I don't know where they came from. I looked at that and I took a picture of it and I said, "You know, this to me is the definition of resilience." Those flowers were sitting underneath. I don't even know how they popped up there, but they're sitting underneath in there and then all of a sudden, they found a way to get to the sunlight, pop out. And put their beauty in the world the way they are. And I just was like, wow, that says resilience to me. That's about taking really adverse— yeah, I got boulders laying on top of me, I got grass that's trying to eat, you know, take up all my water, but I'm just going to pop up here and I'm going to go into the sunlight and show my boldness. I thought that was so cool. So that's what resilience means to me.
