This is Professor Pete Alexander with the Winning at Business and Life podcast, where business leaders share their insights. It is 6 questions in 7 minutes because successful business leaders are busy and rarely have more time to spare. So let's get to it. Question number 1: In a few sentences, please tell me who you are and what you do.
Absolutely. My name is Mia Hewitt and I am an entrepreneur. I help entrepreneurs who are struggling in burnout, lacking passion, be able to find their alignment inside themselves and build 6 and 7-figure businesses the fast and easier way.
Mia, it's so great to have you on the show.
Question for you.
What is the best thing about working in your industry?
Giving people their life back. I'm somebody who used to be just like them. I struggled, built a multi-million multimillion-dollar company and was still left in self-doubt and struggling. So I love helping people get their life back, learning how to say no to people, learning to like give up, um, worried about other people's judgments and really being free to be themselves.
I love that. So much passion. I have a fictitious book with all the answers for business. What chapter would you think most companies should read?
Well, yes. And I mean, I actually wrote a book and I really believe they should read my chapter 5 on how they created their own glass ceiling. I think that is the absolute best book that every company should read and have their employees read on how they're creating their own glass ceiling.
I love that. Yeah. Question number 4, other than the generic work harder, have a great attitude and care for customers. What advice insight would you give to other business leaders?
Well, I know this is going to be so contrarian, but as somebody who's built $2 million companies, I'm going to say it's the opposite of what people think. We've been trained a lot to believe in more in action versus the importance of leveraged aligned action. So I'm going to say that is the number one thing that all leaders should really, really And so it's less about working harder and way more about working smarter.
So if they work smarter, I assume that everything falls into place because their stress will be less, they'll get— Absolutely. Etc. Then because there's the issue of doing too much busy work, which maybe doesn't really get them anywhere. Am I reading you right?
Absolutely. What happens is we become a consciousness of some who we don't have enough time. And when we have this in the background running is there's not enough time, there's not enough time, there's not enough hard work that you could put in to compensate for that feeling. But if you let go of that, it's not time that's an issue. It's never time that stops people. Bill Gates has the same hours in the day as we do. What really it has to do with not prioritizing the right things for the right time. And so when we use leverage and we're aligning that, um, everything flows better, you can get get into a flow state and literally get way more done in less time.
Very well said.
Thank you.
Question number 5, what other business leader like yourself would you like to acknowledge and invite to be on my podcast?
You know, I would absolutely say Natalie Sisson. I would totally recommend her. She's out of Australia. She will be super awesome on your podcast as well. She's an incredible leader helping women get to 6, you know, 6 figures a month. She'd be great for your your podcast.
Wonderful. I'll reach out to her. Thank you for that. And a final question, question number 6, please tell me about your first job.
Well, I started working when I was 13 because I grew up poor, and so I convinced a family-owned business to pay me under the table because I wasn't legally allowed to work, but I was— I really needed to eat. And so my first job is working at a Wings and Raw Bar, and I'm always forever grateful for that family who allowed me to work under the table so that I could really eat. I'm indebted to them.
That's a very hard story, and, you know, it makes a big difference when somebody does something as a favor that really helps you, and you'll remember them for the rest of your life, I'm sure.
Forever. Forever.
Absolutely. Thank you so much for being on the show. How could people find you?
Ah, you know what? I'd love to give them my free book. They can download it for free here if they go to MiaMeantForMore.com. Book.com and use this password. It's all one word: FREEBOOK. All one word. They'll be able to download it, read it for free. It's an incredible book because I wrote it for them to uncover what is really missing and why they struggle. So take advantage of it. It's an incredible way for you to uncover your own blind spots. And see what's really stopping you.
Wonderful. Thank you for that, Risa. And this is Pete Alexander with the Winning at Business and Life podcast. For more insights and ideas, please go to LinkedIn, YouTube, Facebook, or iTunes and search for the Winning at Business and Life podcast. Thanks for listening.
