Episode 209: Winning at Business and Life with Rosalyn Fung
24 Jan 2021 · 14 min
In this concise interview, Professor Pete Alexander hosts Rosalyn Fung, an intuitive mindset and visionary business coach who serves coaches, healers, practitioners, and lightworkers. Rosalyn shares her eclectic background—over a decade as a registered psychologist, a master’s in marriage and family therapy, and advanced martial arts training—framing her approach as a blend of psychology, spirituality, and embodied practice. She emphasizes the paramount importance of personal and spiritual accountability, critiquing coaches who lack integrity and urging practitioners to do the inner work they prescribe. Rosalyn argues that energy, belief systems, and mindset trump conventional strategy; limiting beliefs drain vibration, while aligning with one’s soul mission creates magnetic attraction. She advocates authentic self‑expression over societal conditioning, especially for those from cultures that equate worth with external achievement. Practical resources are offered: a free 5‑day Client Attraction Challenge (www.7figureconfidence.com/challenge) and an 11‑step client‑attraction checklist (funboldsexy.com/client‑attractor), both designed to teach organic social‑media lead generation without paid ads. She recommends fellow business leader Jay Fassett for his integrity and mastery of joint‑venture masterminds. Finally, she shares a personal anecdote about her first retail job at Hudson’s Bay’s children’s department, illustrating early experiences of delegation and authenticity. Contact information includes her website (rosalynfung.com) and Instagram handle @BoldSexyWarrior.

This is Professor Pete Alexander with the Winning at Business and Life podcast, where business leaders share their insights. It is 6 questions in 7 minutes because successful business leaders are busy and rarely have more time to spare. So let's get to it. Question number 1, in a few sentences, please tell me who you are and what you do.
Hi Pete, thank you so much for having me here. I'm Rosalind Fung. I am an intuitive mindset and visionary business coach for other coaches, healers, practitioners, and lightworkers. I specialize in client attraction and soulful selling, and I help you do that by leveraging social media. I'm a former registered psychologist in private practice for over 11 years, and I have a master's in marriage and family therapy. I also am a martial artist. I have a second-degree black belt, and now I take— that was in karate. And now I take Krav Maga, which is Israeli martial arts. So I'm all about love and light and spirituality. So I'm like an ass kicker. So I also speak light language, which is language that only our soul can understand. And the purpose of it is it comes from unconditional love, divine. And, um, I actually speak it on my own podcast, which is a weekly radio show turned podcast. It's called Activate Your SoulGasmic Business, and I provide guided meditations and light language activation. So it's meant to clear, heal, activate anything that is going to support you in taking yourself to that next level version of yourself, mind, body, and spirit.
Oh, I love it. And Rosalyn, it is an absolute pleasure to have you on the show. Question number 2: What is something that makes makes you smile and/or laugh about working in your industry?
Ah, do we want to go more in the head shaking laughing or—
Either, it's your choice.
Okay, well, I'm just gonna call people out because I feel like this is a problem and I'm just shaking my head. So I find it interesting when other coaches are you know, preaching about something, but there is no integrity in terms of walking their talk. Um, that is something I, I'm like shaking my head laughing about, because if you are going to work in, um, the world where you're helping other— with others in their psychology, you got to be doing the inner work yourself. And it is no secret, I am very vocal about doing my own work and making sure that I'm always taking personal accountability, spiritual accountability, That is, I think, the key to success is when we are able to really take accountability for ourselves and look at ourselves and go, "OK," you know, and be open to receiving feedback. So, to me, it is like when Coaches go into blame mode, victim, you know, blaming others, their circumstances, like it just isn't OK with me. So, I am shaking my head, laughing at that one.
That's a great description, and I totally agree with you myself. I mean, it's just, I've seen it all too often, and it's just, it's a shame. It really is.
So yeah, because I think integrity is everything, and it's so deeply important that we're aligned with what we preach about, what we speak about, what we ask our clients to do. We must do ourselves. It's so important.
Absolutely. Question number 3: I have a fictitious book with all the answers for business. What chapter would you think most companies should read?
Oh, I think my low brands should be that chapter. How to take personal accountability and stop blaming yourself, others, and just look at what are the lessons here. What's the— why is this happening for me and through me rather than to me? And when we get to look at situations from this place of accountability, going, what is it that I'm supposed to learn here? What's my lessons? Because I believe we're all souls having a human being experience. And so when we are able to take those lessons, it is so beautiful how we open up more doors and possibilities for ourselves to be even more aligned with our soul mission.
Very well stated. So, so powerful. And, and I love that, that passion in your voice when you're talking about it. It's just, it's infectious. You mentioned it before. Other than the generic work harder, have a great attitude, and care for customers, what advice or insight would you give to other business leaders?
Mm, energy is everything. So I teach about mindset, soul, and strategy. So I will always say your energy will trump strategy. So, energy is based on your belief system. And now I'm gonna pull in the neuroscience from my psychology background, right? So, if we have limiting beliefs that keep us locked in, for example, shame or comparison theory or imposter syndrome, that's gonna— that energy's draining. It's gonna keep us in a lower vibration. We have beliefs around, it is my birthright to be abundant, it is my birthright to put myself out there and share my message and know I am here to create a difference in this world, we show up differently. And so, uh, that's what makes us magnetic is when we're being, I'm going to say, be, do, have. Um, my own pain was around being valued in my doing. And so my performance, my successes, my achievements, and that probably comes from a large part of being Asian culture. But also I think in our society, we're taught, you know, do this thing. You know, diet this way, uh, work out this way, then you can have the body you want, and then you can be happy or be worthy. And that's so backwards. And so in my own journey, this is my huge mission, is no, be you, authentically, fully express so that you can do and create life and business from this place of who you authentically are so that you can have all that you desire. So I would say Energy is everything. Mind, body, and spirit.
Love it. It's so— it's— I, I totally get that. And, and as if you do as you say, I imagine you're sending out that positive energy. My experience is when you send out that positive energy, you attract back that positive energy. And if when you're negative, what happens? You attract back that negative energy. So choose the positive. I mean, that energy is so critical. And I'm— and you—
and it's contagious too.
Exactly, exactly.
We can't fake it till we make it. I mean, maybe to a certain extent, but I actually really don't believe in that. It starts with coming home to yourself. It starts with getting into a beautiful, authentic relationship with yourself first and foremost, so that you are able to show up and truly show up with joy, with gratitude, and in service to others. Not because you're people pleasing, but because you know that this is your mission, this is your life purpose, and you are here to share your gifts and shine.
I love that. It's so, so insightful. Thank you. Question number 5: What other business leader like yourself would you like to acknowledge and invite to be on my podcast? Hmm.
Oh my gosh, like you're gonna make me choose this one? Okay, let me feel into this. You definitely need to meet Jay Fassett. He is— he started out as— I've known this man for about 5 years. He's written one of my favorite books called Reframe Your Blame, and I met him at an event in the States, and I was actually my speaking coach. This was about 5 years ago. He spoke on stage— Jay spoke on stage about Masterminds to Millions, and I joined his mastermind to learn how to facilitate and run abundant masterminds, and that is what I do today too. Um, and then now he specializes in joint ventures, which is bringing in strategic partnerships with all the fun. And, uh, yeah, Jay is definitely somebody that people need to know. Um, he, all the personal development courses I had taken, he is actually the founder of them. So he absolutely has the most integrity. And honestly, that whole piece around taking personal and spiritual accountability, it's all thanks to him.
Wow, that's a wonderful recommendation. I look forward to talking to him, so thank you for that.
You're welcome.
And our final question, question number 6, please tell me about your first job.
Uh, so like when I was a teenager?
A teenager, exactly. Something, something that people wouldn't know.
Oh, what was my first job? My first job was working at Bentley's, which is in Canada here. It's a purse and luggage and bag store. I worked there. Oh goodness, actually, you know what, I'm gonna back up. No, my first job was at Hudson's Bay in the children's department, and I was selling children's clothes and car seats and all the fun kid toys. That was my first job.
Well, that's a fun one. I mean, at least you got the tools and everything.
Totally was. I got to like play all day, so it was great. To be honest, I really didn't know a lot about the car seats. So half the time— and I didn't want to make shit up, so I was just like, okay, I'm gonna delegate this, which is one of my superpowers to this day, um, to someone else in the children's department so that they can handle it. Because I, because I did not have interest in the car seats.
Yeah, they're not nearly as fun.
I mean, kind of important, but they're not as fun selling it.
That's awesome. So Rosalind, thank you so much for being on the show. How could people find you?
Yeah, absolutely. So, uh, website is rosalynfung.com. R-O-S-A-L-Y-N-F-U-N-G. See, it's even in my last name, fun. Uh, um, and so, you know, it just comes with the territory.
