This is Professor Pete Alexander with the Winning at Business and Life podcast, where business leaders share their insights. It is 6 questions in 7 minutes because successful business leaders are busy and rarely have more time to spare. So let's get to it. Question number 1: In a few sentences, please tell me who you are and what you do.
I'm Tony Vlahos, Chief Marketing Officer of Execunet, which means I'm the chief storyteller and the head of the brand.
Toni, it's great to have you on the show. Question number 2, what's the best thing about working in your industry?
My audience, Pete Alexander, is made up of senior-level executives, most of whom are between jobs or fear a transition or know they will be facing one soon. The brand is all about designing your individual career and choosing your destination. It's about new frontiers and possibility and forward movement. So when the audience sees and makes the transformations they want, It's a great feeling.
Wow, that sounds so powerful. I love it. Question number 3: I have a book with all the answers for business. What chapter would you think most companies should read?
Well, chapter 7, of course, which is all about caring for your consumer and helping them achieve the impossible.
Mm, I love that, helping them achieve the impossible. Question number 4: Other than the generic work harder, have a great attitude, and care for customers, what advice or insight would you give to other business leaders?
Well, to remember one thing, your job is to be the CEO of your own career. You're the head marketer of your destiny, of your career path. So know your superpower, let the world around you know it, and then learn how to market yourself so people really see you and feel you, and you will be able to go forward, get what you want in your career, in your life, and prosper.
Mm, I love know your superpower. That, it's, it really is a compelling message to, to our listeners. Question number 5, What other business leader or executive like yourself should be acknowledged and invite to be on my podcast?
Yes, I highly recommend Rich Fernandez, who's the CEO of Search Inside Yourself Leadership Institute. It's a space where leaders learn about mindfulness and how applying mindfulness and creating awareness helps you in your career and your life, as well as the lives of people around you.
Oh, that's great. I think he's a great referral. Thank you so much. I'll reach out to him. And question number 6: Please tell me about your first job.
My first job was busking with a guitar in Penn Station, New York City. I made all of $12. What I really gained from the experience is learning how to connect with an audience, how to use precious moments to reach them, and how to eliminate the noise around me so I can be heard. Everything you need to know about how to market, right?
Mm-hmm, absolutely. Even if it's for just $12. I love it. So, Tony, thank you so much for being on the show. How can people find you?
I'm at www.execunet.com, and you can find me on LinkedIn. And on LinkedIn, my handle is Anthony Vlahos.
