1 Your friends will start to hate you 1

When you get successful and your friends haven't, the ones closest to you often turn jealous and try to pull you back down. It hurts more from friends than strangers because they knew you before.
Chapters
Nothing makes somebody more insecure than when they see the person that they grew up with doing better than them. Like, put it in the inverse, right? Like, we all know that kid from high school who was, like, kind of a jock. Like, maybe he was on the football team, or maybe she was a cheerleader. And they just, like, peaked in high school, right? Like, they never got past that phase of their life. They're always trying to relive it, and they've never done anything impressive with their life since. And you know how that person feels about you, the nerd who, like, started a business and now they're successful, and they're, you know, doing things that this. This jock will never have the opportunity to. They're jealous. They're insecure. They wish that could have been them. Now, it's one thing when this is, like, the jock versus the nerds, but it's a completely different thing when it's like, one of your close friends, right? Your best friend from high school or your best friend from college, they see you doing better things and they try to pull you back down. Family that you grew up with, they see you doing this stuff, and they try to hold you back. They're jealous of you because they see you doing something truly impressive, and they're insecure about the fact that they've never done anything like that in their life.
