A short first-person narrative (YouTube short) in which the speaker recounts joining the U.S. Coast Guard for work, receiving a $4,000 enlistment bonus which he quickly spent, then discovering personal finance through Robert Kiyosaki’s Rich Dad, Poor Dad. That book sparked a long-term interest in personal finance and led him into sales and an industry career.

I joined the coast Guard literally because I needed a job. I got a $4,000 bonus, quickly pissed it away at 21 years old, and I'm like, I'm gonna go to the bookstore and buy a book and learn how to manage my money. And so I bought Robert Kiyosaki's Rich dad, Poor dad. And that, like, blew my mind and sent me down the nerdery rabbit hole for, like, the next 15. I mean, today, like, I'm just constantly consuming this information. And so I was fortunate to, you know, get my foot in the door. After getting on the coast Guard, I got a sales job. I ended up kind of getting in the industry.
