Peter Vander Wall describes Maker Saturday, a weekly routine where you review your work, identify repetitive tasks, record Loom videos showing how to do them, convert those into SOPs using ChatGPT, and hand them to your team. The goal is to stop doing the work yourself and start building systems your team can run.

You are doing business the hard way if you're doing the same task over and over and over. Now here's what I do to avoid this so Saturday is what I call my Maker Day. I dedicate just a couple hours to working on my business. Now I usually have a few days during the week like this too, but that's kind of inconsistent, kind of comes and goes. There might be a holiday or a fire I have to put out. I always have Maker Saturdays. Now on Maker Saturday, I'll go through my workload over the last week. I I'll see what tasks I did more than once. Anything on that list. I'm going to make a loom video documenting how to do it. I'm going to turn that into an sop with my ChatGPT framework and then I'm going to hand it off to one of my team members to handle in the future. I'm going to hold the team member's hand the first few times they do it so we can refine the SOP with anything I might have missed. That's the difference between a good SOP and a great sop. This way, I'm maximizing the amount of work I can do on my business instead of just in my business.
