Intelligence alone doesn't determine success anymore. What matters now is who can find, synthesize, and act on information that's already out there. With Google and ChatGPT everywhere, the skill that separates people is knowing what to do with what you find.
Idiots can absolutely win in life. They win in life all the time. We no longer live in a world where the smartest person wins. Instead, the person who wins is the person who's best at collecting all of the information and figuring out what to do with it. Think about it. You can get any knowledge you want from Google or ChatGPT. You don't have to come up with anything new. You just have to be able to make sense of what already exists. And this is really a paradigm shift that started about 50 years ago. But it's become very clear that this is the new way in this world. There's a million different news sources out there all saying completely different things, but there's some thread in between that you can sort of grab onto and figure out what the actual truth is. And the same is true for any other sort of information. It's there to be found. You just have to figure out what to do with it.
