A short YouTube monologue (shorts) by Peter Vander Wall presenting the idea of a "personal board of directors": assembling multiple mentors who model desired behaviors across different areas of life (spiritual, family/friends, business, investing). The speaker notes mentors can be people he knows or paid experts and argues you need both types to elevate your life.

One of the ways I elevate my life is through what I call my personal board of directors. It's pretty well impossible to find somebody who models what you'd like to see for yourself in every single area of life, right? But if you can find people who model that for different areas of life and kind of put them together into one group, that's what you call your personal board of directors. And so, in my life, I've got mentors who lead me in the right direction. In my spiritual life, my relationship with God, I've got mentors who lead me in the right direction. In my family life, in my life with friends, I've got mentors who lead me in the right direction with my business and my investing, the way I make and multiply my money. Some of these mentors are just people in my life who I really respect and look up to. And some of these mentors are actual experts that I've hired and I've paid money to help me elevate my life. Both are legitimate. One is not necessarily better than the other. And I believe you actually need both in your life.
