I used to suck at marketing because I thought you could just post a video and then you'd have people dming you like, hey, can we work together? Like, how can you help me? And it's because I didn't understand this one concept. Welcome to lessons business school didn't teach you. Today we're talking about marketing funnels. There's three levels of a marketing funnel. There's top, middle, and bottom. You're real creative with the names here. So let's say you've got a lemonade stand. Here's what the three levels need to look like for you. So top of funnel, we just need to get people to notice you. That might be an ad on main street. That might be putting your stands in, like, really conspicu locations where a lot of people see them. That might even be like posting funny videos on TikTok related to lemonade. We just want them to know you exist. Now, middle of funnel is where we're going to get people to consider trying your lemonade. So now they know you exist, but why should they care about you? There's a ton of places they could go get lemonade. They could go to the gas station. They could go to Chick Fil A. They could go to the other lemonade stand down the street. Why yours? So maybe you have different flavors or yours is healthier than other stands, but we need to make it clear why you're different. Now, bottom of funnel is where we get people to buy, and so now they're ready to purchase. And we just need to make it as easy as humanly possible. So if you're making them fill out like this long form about where did they find you and why did they choose your stand? They have to manually read you their credit card number. Some people are going to get frustrated. They're going to go somewhere else because it doesn't matter that you have the best lemonade. And if you're missing either of these three steps in your marketing, you're probably missing out on a ton of customers.
