The biggest mistake we small business owners make is we don't take lessons from big businesses. If you look at the biggest brands today and why they're so successful, it generally comes down to they've built a story or a narrative around their products. Apple is a perfect example of this. Right? Look at the original ipod. When it came out, the pitch was 10,000 songs in your pocket. They didn't talk about the cool features of the device, they talked about what the device will allow you to do. See, this is from back in the day when you could carry around CDs which had maybe 10 to 20 songs on them. But now, now Apple's offering this revolutionary new product that allows you to carry 10,000 songs in an even smaller, more compact form. And that is the pitch. So in our small businesses, we need to be taking lessons like this and implementing them. Instead of getting hyper fixated on the features of your offer, create a narrative or a story around the solution it provides.
