This is a short excerpt from a YouTube video by Peter Vander Wall ("The Future of Copywriting: How AI is Changing the Game") discussing how copywriters can adapt to AI. The speaker explains that AI can automate much of the writing workflow (transcribing podcasts, generating sales pages, social posts, etc.), and recommends embracing AI: use it to handle grunt work, then add the unique final ~10% of creativity and judgment only a human can provide to remain competitive.

How does a copywriter stay relevant in the age of AI? AI has become a real problem for most copywriters because their business is either centered around writing content for LinkedIn or Twitter, maybe writing sales pages or website copy, or even writing blog posts and articles for people's podcasts or for a publication. But now we've got AI tools where I can drop a link to a podcast in, it'll transcribe the podcast, and then I can generate any type of content I want based off of that podcast. I could go to ChatGPT and ask it to write me a sales page for my particular product and just specify all the different features and it'll spit out something. That's great. So how does a copywriter survive in this environment? Well, in my opinion, the way you do it is by embracing AI and not trying to fight against it. Let's be real, you're not going to win against AI. Probably none of us will. But if you can learn to harness it, get the grunt work out of the way and then put that extra little 10% that only you can create on there, and that's going to allow your business to survive in a day where many of your competitors are dying off.
