Most people get this completely wrong about marketing. In this online knowledge based business, people who are just starting out tend to get really fixated on these external things that they see the really successful people in their space doing. Running ads, hosting a podcast, YouTube, TikTok, Twitter, all of these things. And so you see that and you go, oh, I need to do all those things and then I'll be a success. But herein lies the problem. You can have the best marketing funnel ever and still be completely broke. If you have a podcast and people love it and they listen to every single episode, then you've done a great job creating a tech. But that won't convert into sales if you don't know how to move people down your funnel. And I guarantee you, those really successful people that you're watching online, they've got really, really good funnels that monetize the attention they're getting from their social media. You just don't see it because it's behind the scenes. You're so fixated on this flashy stuff. But that's really just the tip of the iceberg. And that's why someone with only 500 followers could technically out earn someone with 500,000 followers, just because they're better at converting the attention they've already got.
