Peter Vander Wall explains why you should post Instagram Stories: they let you practice speaking on camera with unedited takes, show your audience behind-the-scenes moments that build connection, and give you space to share whatever you want, from reshares to memes.

Here's three reasons you need to show up on Instagram stories more often. Number one, showing up on stories builds that muscle of being on camera. You don't have the luxury of cutting or piecing together multiple takes, so you get really, really good at speaking on camera. Number two is you're giving your audience a peek into your life. Showing your audience what's going on behind the scenes creates this sense of connection, like they actually know you, even though they've never met you in person. Number three is you can post basically whatever you want on stories. Sometimes I reshare other content that I really like, sometimes I talk about things that are kind of interesting to me, and sometimes I share memes that I think are funny. So go post something on your story right now. Like, actually right now. You can even post this video on your story if you want.
