An MIT study recently explained why laws are written in an incomprehensible style. So you can't understand them. So it says, just as magic spells use special rhymes and archaic terms to signal their power, the convoluted language of legalese acts to convey a sense of authority. I thought this was so interesting because this is actually, this something people were talking about over the weekend with this bill in Congress, right? There's, you know, it's either government shutdown or we pass this bill. But then Elon steps in and he and Mike Johnson, like, cut the whole thing down to, like, this tiny little stack. And that's all that we really needed to put through to keep the government moving.
