You can be really good at making money and still just suck at business. This is something I've been learning big time lately. But a couple months ago I was faced with the hard lesson that this skill of making money doesn't cover over all of those other skills that I lack. Skills that are absolutely necessary in the game of business. Building a team, customer service systems and automations, operations, all of those are areas where I'm pretty weak and I kind of thought I could just out earn those weaknesses. Eventually I came to realize that's not going to work. Instead, I need to grow those skills somehow. So I hired a couple of coaches to kind of help me through this. I'm working with a fractionalized COO Chief Operations Officer who's helping me really build out a robust team, robust systems and operations, robust standards for doing things so that I can kind of get out of the day to day grind and focus on the things that I am really good at. And I'm also working with a marketing coach who's teaching me some new client acquisition strategies that are going to be huge for both my own company and for my clients. And last but not least, I'm investing in a team of absolute savages.
