A short YouTube talk advising beginner content creators that niching too narrowly can hinder growth. The speaker recommends mixing niche-specific content with some broader, mass-appeal pieces (e.g., real estate content framed under the larger topic of money) to create an in-account funnel: top-of-funnel content to attract views and broader audiences, plus middle/bottom-of-funnel content to nurture and convert followers.

This is a common mistake killing your growth as a beginner content creator. You're niching down way too much. A lot of gurus say you need to niche down and they're not completely wrong. You have a specific message for a specific group of people and you don't need to shy away from that. But part of your content also needs to have a wider mass appeal. For example, if you work in the real estate industry, then yeah, most of your content should be about real estate. But also understand that people view real estate as part of the larger topic of money and so you can create some wider appeal, more general content that's going to get mass attention. By mixing the two, you're essentially creating a funnel within your Instagram account. You've got top of funnel content that's getting a lot of views and then you've got middle and bottom of funnel content that's nurturing your audience and building connection with them.
