Excerpt from a Precursor Ventures podcast-style video discussing how the startup narrative often highlights extreme highs and lows while overlooking the steady, day-to-day grinding of most honest founders; this omission can create pressure to embellish successes even when not fabricating results.
So fascinating. I know we talked about it a couple podcasts ago, but you hear in this industry the highs and then the extreme lows, but nothing typically in the middle of. Just like the companies and the founders who are just showing up day to day and just grinding. I believe all founders are doing that in good faith, but those stories don't typically get shared, so I understand why there is this feeling of wanting to over embellish when you can. It's not like it's fake revenue entirely.
