Dr Adam Voelkel explains how inverse gas chromatography measures Hansen solubility parameters across materials like petroleum and biomaterials. The method helps predict drug formulation stability by revealing physicochemical properties that determine how substances interact.

We had unusual opportunity to meet here in London on this symposium devoted to applications of inverse gas chromatography technique in examination of physicochemical properties of various materials. Starting of materials from petroleum chemistry up to modern biomaterials which might be used in human body. I had opportunity to tell something about determination of Hansen solubility parameters by means of inverse gas chromatography. All problems connected with this application and all advantages. I mean here where we can use Hansen solubility parameter to describe for example stability of drug formulation. I am sure that these two days event will be fruitful and will help people in the world to better understand and use inverse gas chromatography.
