This is a YouTube video titled "How to increase chances of your success in #sales?" created in August 2024. It features a monologue by Sam Altman explaining a sales technique that involves asking prospects "Does that sound fair?" to increase sales success by 30%. The content focuses on behavioral cues during sales calls and how to engage prospects effectively without seeming pushy.
This secret increases sales success by 30%. It's as simple as saying three words. Does that sound fair? In sales? Getting to yes can be tough. When you can make an offer, whether it's a discount or extra features, you want the other person to agree quickly. But how do you make that happen? Here is a small trick. After presenting your offer, just ask, does that sound fair? How can you avoid being seen as pushy when talking to your prospects? According to behavioral signs, within the first 7 to 12 seconds of every sales call, your prospects are subconsciously picking up verbal and non verbal cues from you. Now these cues trigger into brain to do one of the two things. If you come across as aggressive, needy or overly attached, it triggers their brain to go into what we call fight or flight. They try to get rid of you quickly by saying things like I'm too busy now. Can you call me tomorrow? Can you call me back later? We're good. We don't need it. When this happens, the walls of resistance go up and the sale is pretty much over. However, if you come across as neutral, unbiased and detached and you know the right questions to ask, it triggers their brain to become curious. They feel like they want to engage because you might have something important for them. The key is to appear detached from the expectation of making a sale. Instead, focus on whether there is a sale to be made in the first place and whether or not they have problems that you can actually help them solve.
