Canva Video Templates for Beginners: How to Choose Sizes, Customize & Export Like a Pro

Hey everyone, this is Rami Raiden. In this video, I'm going to show you how to use Canva video template and also to know the difference between the video sizes on social media template. So let's get started. So first we go to canva.com. So you can sign up or log in if you have an account. If you don't have an account, you can sign up for free. So I'm gonna log in now as I have an account using my wife's account, actually. Alright, so on this page here, on the home page where you can choose what you want to do, if you want to create a whiteboard, a presentation, social media post. So now I'm gonna post focus only on video. So you press on videos, and here you have the options to choose if it's a regular video, 1920x1080, which is good for like HDTV, laptop, PC, or YouTube videos. Usually they use the horizontal videos. Or you can create a Facebook video, 1080x1080. They call it square video. It's good for Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter as a square video. And you can do the 1080 by 1920, which is the vertical video. It's good for Instagram Reels, Facebook Reels, TikTok videos, IGTV, and, uh, YouTube Shorts. There's also other preset for YouTube videos video collage, and more. Let's check what else you can do. YouTube video ad, 1920 by 1080, which is the same. Uh, there is a feed ad video, slideshow video, Instagram Reel, which is the vertical video, LinkedIn video. So there's so many different presets where you can choose. You can do also TikTok videos. Which is 1080 by 1920 vertical. So now I'm gonna start a regular video, 1920 by 1080 horizontal video. So press on that. First, start by naming your video. So go to the top menu and write the name of your project. So this is Canva editing project. Later, if you want to find this project, you just type this name. On the left side, you see there's template videos where you can choose from. So you can move your mouse over and you'll see a quick demo for the video. I'm going to choose this video to show you what we can do with the template videos. So here's the slider, the play slider, and here the text. You can— it's just a layer where you can edit it. If you don't like the video, you can just press undo and choose a different one. There's some template with multiple pages like this, 5 pages, different pages that you can use. If you press on it, you can see the pages inside. You can use them all or just one. This one, see, it's all layers. Just undo if you don't like it and search for a different one. You can use the search bar and look for the words you want, just type the keyword. There's also the pro videos, some of them are pro with this pro logo, so as a Canva Pro subscriber you can get this video. I'm going to choose this video now and I'll walk through the timeline. So first, here we have the video on one page. The whole video is like 35 seconds. You can see the time here. This is for the whole page on a single video. Alright. What you can do, you can trim it from the sides. You can see the time, can make it shorter, right? Down there you can zoom in the screen. This is just the screen, it's just a zoom feature so you can see closer. And here you can zoom also for the timeline. So if you press it, now you can zoom the timeline. You see here, the timeline can go more into like 400%. This is not expanding the time, it's just zooming in on the timeline. You can also press the grid view to see how many pages you have. And next to the grid view, there's a preview in full screen. You press press it and your video will play in full screen. This will be very useful for presentation. There's also a help button on the right side. To the left we have the note where you can press the note and write. Here you write notes for yourself about this project or about the project you're working on. You can access the notes from here always by pressing it. So if you press on it, it will appear and disappear when you unpress it again. Now let's see what we can edit on the template video. For example, this title is a circle. You can select it and And you can move it around. And this text is a different layer or element, so you can edit it too. Same thing with this title. You can see you can edit. I will show you here. If you select any of the elements, you can change the color here. Same thing with the text. If you press on the text, then menu will change up there and you can change the font. Here you can change the size of the font, can here change the color, make it bold, italic, and also you can do the alignment. You can add lists and spacing and special effects too. We'll go through this in a different video. So for now I'm showing you what you can do on a video from template. If you want to add a new page, you just press a new page and add another video from here. Same thing. You can check the time of this video, you can make it shorter or expand it. Here you will see the total time of both videos, like here it's 52 seconds. So this is 19 seconds and this one you'll see is 33 seconds, so total of 52. And now to export the video, you press on share. You can share the design with people you know, group or team. Here you can give access, only you can access. You can download it here. Or check other sharing options and share to social media, or press on more and see other platform for social. And here you can say press on download. So I'm gonna— so I'm gonna press on download and save it to MP4. Video. And the quality, you can change the quality here if you want it as a 4K video, but I don't recommend this for social media. Just use the 1080, it would be more than enough for the HD quality. And here you can select the pages you want to download. So I'm gonna press download and wait for the video to download. While waiting for your video to download, you can scan this barcode here, and once you scan it with your phone, you can download the Canva app and upload photos and videos from your phone directly to Canva, and you can use them later on desktop. So now the video is downloaded. There you go. HD quality video just downloaded with the two pages that we created from template.
