The test requires multiple lab assays instead of one blood draw, takes longer than a typical 15-minute visit, and lacks a billing code, leaving providers with no financial incentive to offer it.

However, it's not used in everyday practice because it's too new. You know, it was published in 2018. It requires multiple tests instead of one simple blood draw. It takes more time. So diagnosing diabetes is separate, but trying to understand what type of diabetes requires more testing. And it takes more than 15 minutes appointment to go over with patients. And there's no billing code for diabetes subtype at this time for the subtype analysis.
