Today I wanted to talk to you about a condition called cardiometabolic syndrome. Cardiometabolic syndrome is a condition where you have a cluster of metabolic conditions that put someone at a high risk for cardiovascular disease and diabetes. These conditions include overweight, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and high glucose or prediabetes or fully developed diabetes. Now, these are secondary to underlying risk factors that include insulin resistance and excessive weight. Now we have WHO recognizing this cardiometabolic syndrome as an entity. And that's why it is important for us to recognize this and address the risk factors. Because definitely these patients have much higher risk of cardiovascular disease and stroke and other kind of early morbid and mortality conditions that they're trying to, they can prevent. And it is known that people with cardiometabolic syndrome have twice as likely to die from a heart attack or heart disease and they are at three times more risk of getting heart disease and and stroke. Given the population in most places getting more overweight and obese, we are seeing a lot more cardiometabolic syndrome and hence higher risk of cardiovascular disease that we need to prevent. I'm happy and excited to announce that we are launching a wellness program at Capital Endocrinology. And this program is intended to help all these patients with either who are at high risk for cardiometabolic syndrome or somebody who has already developed diabetes or have had heart attack or stroke in the past who continue to have a high risk factors. And this program includes therapeutic lifestyle interventions where we offer a structured curriculum for three, six or nine months based on somebody's symptoms where we walk you through certain kind of dietary changes or lifestyle changes and we are partnering with you in that program so that you're not feeling alone and left out. And we, we don't just tell you change your diet and change your lifestyle or change your exercise or add exercise. Here we give you a plan so you can feel good about what you're doing and you find a partner or a group and a support from us. With that I will bring it to the end and want you to contact our office if you're interested in this program and please contact us at 530-677-0700. You can also reach us at rangimd do and we will be ready to start this program sometime in July, early July, right after 4th of July, 2022. And we are looking forward to helping you and your near and dear ones who have or are at risk for cardiometabolic syndrome or diabetes and obesity. Thank you so much and take.
