In my practice, what I believe is fasting glucose, hemoglobin A1C that we talk about, these are late markers. These can stay normal while the body's trying to compensate in spite of high insulin levels for a long time. That happens in insulin resistance. So our body's going to try to keep normal blood sugars for as long as possible until it just cannot. The data shows that metabolic changes long before diagnosis happen. We can catch those earlier. So that's why we should not wait for traditional markers to diagnose somebody with Thai meals.
