In the second installment of his 30‑day dating challenge, Ray Sorrell advises viewers to set realistic short‑term relationship goals spanning roughly three days to three months. He stresses that goals must reflect each individual’s circumstances—whether improving credit, losing weight, or simply getting out of the house more often—and must be honest to avoid self‑sabotage. Sorrell encourages expanding the environments where one meets potential partners, warning that staying in the same “pond” limits options. He reiterates the Day 1 theme of honesty, reminding viewers that lying to oneself is the worst betrayal. A brief interjection from another speaker adds a light‑hearted romantic line.

Because a lot of times we catch the same fish because we're swimming and fishing in the same pond. So make sure you set short-term goals. And remember, on day 1, the one thing we talked about was honesty. Make sure your short-term goal is very honest. Don't lie to yourself. The worst person in the world to lie to is you.
