A man recovering from a broken fibula and tibia reflects on 1 Corinthians 12:12 and how his church community's visits and prayers lifted him through depression. He urges listeners to encourage someone today, noting that outward smiles often hide real pain.

Yo, what's up family? This is your boy, Can't Get Right Without the Lord. Um, sitting up here laying in this— actually sitting up in this chair, look a hot mess right now, I know. And I was just sitting up here asking God, like, how can I encourage somebody right now? Although sometimes, you know, I might not feel like my best, but I was trying to figure out how can I encourage somebody. And God gave me a scripture I was pretty familiar I think most of us are familiar with is 1 Corinthians 12:12, and it talks about basically saying that we are many members but one body. And what that's saying is that, you know, you got a hand, it does a particular job. You got a foot, it does a particular job. You have eyes, they do a particular job. And when one of them are out of whack, it kind of affects the whole body. Now, anybody that knows me know right now that I'm in the hospital I shattered my fibula, I broke my tibia. It affected my whole lifestyle instantly. I had to close down my business. I have to get my motorcycle back because I ain't gonna be able to ride for a year. That's gonna affect my credit. It affected my self-esteem. That affected a whole lot of different things that was going on in me, and I suffered the first week through major depression. And it wasn't that I thought I did anything wrong, but I just didn't understand it. And I was down and out. I mean, there's no doubt about it, I was down and out. And other members of the body of Christ came to see about their brother because they said I was the one that made them laugh, I was the one that made them smile. But because I was down, they had to come check on me, make sure I was okay. And it really blessed my heart, it blessed my spirit, because it reminds me that we are all part of the body of Christ. And just like when I'm hurting right now, you know, with this pain and all these different medicines, and now I'm doing therapy and everything else, um, it affects the rest of my body, whether it's mental, whether it's physical, psychological, financial. Well, guess what? When there are people in your circle who are down and out, by you shining the love of Christ in them, by telling them something positive, by praying for them, by encouraging them, by telling them it's going to be okay, telling them, yeah, I can see your bald spot, but it's okay, um, it really encourages them because they're still a member of the body of Christ. And the body of Christ is not about Baptists, not about being a Pentecostal, it's not about how much money you give to the church. It's all about loving Jesus the Christ. And if you love Jesus Christ, you accepted him as your Lord and Savior, then you are part of the body of Christ. So I know for myself, this has been a great lesson for me. And the lesson has been that God has been showing me that not only have I been positive in his kingdom, but some of the love that I have been giving to people, people have been giving back. But also, he showed me that I need to rest. I need to rest because I was putting too much pressure on this little particular member of the body of Christ. So with that being said, I just want to let y'all know that I'm okay. But encourage somebody today, you know what I'm saying? You'd be surprised how a smile would take a person a long way. You don't know who's going through right now. You don't know who's crying. Just because people are smiling don't mean that they're not hurting. Encourage somebody, love somebody today. Not because you're trying to get on the, you know, some cool points or whatever, but just because it's right. You know, that's how you express love. That's how you express who God is. But anyway, man, I just wanted to encourage somebody. I hope this encourages somebody. This is your boy, Can't Get Right Without the Lord. They got me using a bedpan, that's crazy. I holla.
