In this brief address at the Al Madinah Smart City Forum, Jonathan Reichental emphasizes the critical role of such gatherings for sharing best practices and learning among regional leaders. He praises Medina’s efforts to bring together diverse stakeholders, noting the value of both in‑person networking and virtual participation for those unable to attend. Reichental argues that continuous, collaborative forums are essential to accelerate progress, avoid duplicated effort, and ultimately raise the quality of life for citizens across the city, the nation, the region, and globally.

So I'm here in Medina in Saudi Arabia at the Smart City Forum, and it's a few hours into it, and I've really enjoyed, first of all, hearing about the Medina plans, what they've already achieved, and started to do some excellent networking. I think this is an important forum. Forums like this are just essential because we have to share the best practices. We have to share what we learn and learn from each other. Right? Instead of each of us starting from scratch and figuring out how do we all benefit. Right? So we've got to have these. And I think Medina is doing an excellent job in inviting the different regional leaders here. Those that can't make it will be able to see it on video or they can attend virtually. And this has to be ongoing. This has to continue because others will learn through their own experiences. This group here will want to benefit from other regional experiences, too. So forums are vital. And I'm so impressed with how this is set up. I'm really impressed with who is here, the kind of person, the kind of intellect and responsibilities and leadership that are present here. So I think this needs to continue, needs to grow, and we need to share and collaborate as much as possible. We have to increase the quality of life for the most amount of people in this city, in this country, in this region and in the world.
